pmodonnell
When building alist for tournaments; can you choose Codex Powers as part fo the build and then at the begining of your match opt to roll for 6ED Psychic Disipline Powers? Oz of the North
This comes down to the decision of the person heading the tournament. They might like you to tell what powers from codex you are taking or what tables you roll on, or they might just not care. All up to how they are feeling. Valerian
Yep, that's pretty much it. Check the most recent SW FAQ. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283350-choosing-psychic-powers/#findComment-3523091 Share on other sites
DanPesci
Personally, i always play that you should choose what psychic discipline you are going for before deployment, and before you even see your opponents army (ie, it should be done when you write you list). Athough the actual ruling for this seems to be down to the particular house rules/tournament, i feel that for good list building, you really should be certain what powers you are going for with your guys as you write the list, as then you are certain what role they are going to be playing in your army. I typically do this but some recent discussions with my gaming group has me second guessing my standard methods and I thought I would see what this community has to say. Thanks for the responses. Lysere
If you have a codex that still has unique Psychic powers you take them as part of making the list. You may then trade them out for Rulebook powers before deploying. Part of it matters for Space Wolves since you can't have multiple psykers with the exact same powers or some such. (Don't play wolves but see it mentioned a lot) Without including this in your list you can't really make an army list.
