Techmarine question

Actually, looking closer at the faq to the daemonblade, I'm starting to think its one or the other effect--wise. The wording is almost identical on results of 8,9,11-12 for daemonblade, referencing the "wielder", but wouldn't count if you take two daemonblades and roll twice, since you can only take one affect. Not sure if this sets a president or not. Lame.

That was FAQ'd, you can only benefit from the rules of one.

Q: If an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor takes 2 Daemonblades, how is this

resolved? (p56)

A: Roll seperately on the table for each Daemonblade. He will

gain the effects of whichever Daemonblade he uses in that

round of combat.

This does not effect other rules, so if you're wielding a staff then you would benefit from its rules as you're still wielding it when using another weapon.

edit: NWS for completeness

Q: Can the save granted by a Nemesis warding stave be taken against

all Wounds suffered whilst the wielder is engaged in close combat and

not only against Wounds caused by close combat attacks? (p54)

A: Yes.

The BRB says "..cannot mix and match the abilities of several different melee weapons." regarding having multiple ccw. Would this invalidate the whole "wielding" wording in C:GK?

That's to prevent some sperglords from claiming that they can hit you with a S8 Thunder Hammer and get rerolls to wound because he has a lightning claw in the other hand, or worse still, punching you with a Lightning Claw and claiming it's AP2 because his model has a Thunder Hammer in the other hand.

THSS Terminators don't lose their 3++ if they hit you with the hammer, so the Techmarine won't lose his 2++ if he servo-arms someone to death. Warding staves are a stick that gives you a 2++ Invuln in melee, they just happen to be a stick with an AP value attached too.
