TheLost
Hello guys, am I right in assuming you can use Forge world models in standard 40k battles now, so long as your don't use super heavies and/or do you still need to ask your opponents first? Thanks for any replies TheLost Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283382-forge-world-and-40k/ Share on other sites
Messanger of Death
You can use Forge World rules in your standard games of Warhammer 40K. It has been that way for some time. It is not illegal. However, that isn't to say that your opponent will agree to play against you if you include Forge World units. So, as has been the case for many years, ask your opponent/tournament organiser before hand. sockwithaticket
Anything that has the 40k approved stamp is absolutely fine. It's courteous to tell someone that what you're putting on the table is FW and give them the opportunity to look at the rules in case they're unfamiliar with it (in the same way you'd let someone have a look at a new unit from a new codex). Memento Of Prospero
You should not look to the forums for Validation. You should always ask your opponent or see if the Tournament organizers are OK with it. Simple as that. It's proper etiquette to do as, as many players are unfamiliar with forgeworld models or simply do not have access to them. A level playfield is the best way for both players to enjoy the game. TheLost
Thanks for the swift replies, playing 40k to just a small hobby between me and a few friends and I don't have time to join tournaments and the like, so I'm a little off the rules for using forgeworld units. what I was trying to say is can you use these units as if they are standard codex units or has that been that way it is for a while now? Thanks for any replies Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/283382-forge-world-and-40k/#findComment-3523555 Share on other sites
Memento Of Prospero
If you want to be technical about it, yes they are. thepowerofwar
Its always best to ask you opponent first before using them. But most tournaments will not allow them so like for example due to that fact most of the gamming groups around me don't either. Memento Of Prospero
Do not that the Spartan Tank is experimental rules, not official. Thus needs 100% approval from your opponent.
