So I realize that I am missing some things.

I recall references to certain scenes, such as Erebus being smartened up by Horus, and the entire episode of Kurze being trapped aboard the Invincible Reason (I know the Lion gets that teleporter thing, but whats after that?)

Also, I read the short story about Ferrus Manus in the Primarchs, and I was confused about something. What's the connection between Ferrus and the Angel Exterminatus? Surely its more than just hints that his bro Fulgrim will eventually get it? What am I missing?

This will likely be edited and added upon, as I realize what Im missing.

Well, the teleporter thingymabob was the warp engine he gets in The Lion. From there, we go to Prince of Crows where the Dark Angels use it to ambush the Night Lords at Sheol, most likely as they were finishing up a campaign. Then Curze gets hospitalized and a confirmed one-fifth, suspected one-fourth of the Legion is destroyed and the VIII Legion retreats. From there, we get the second ambush where Curze boards the Invincible Reason. During the third duel with the Lion, he realizes what he did in leading his sons on a suicide mission and flees into the bowels of the ship. Then we move to Macragge in Unremembered Empire, which is where we see that he has spent sixteen weeks evading the Lion and killing any Dark Angels who were sent after him. Then he escapes and wreaks unholy havoc and terror. Currently, we last saw him in the mountains walking back towards Macragge and the celebrating Imperials.

Regarding Angel Exterminatus, Fulgrim gifts Ferrus' hammer to Perturabo. I hope something develops later from the because that really annoyed me. (If that's what you meant by his link to Angel Exterminatus?)

I can see a story being based on it's recovery...

Codex Grey Knights, 6th Edition

"Here you go, dudebro." Khaldor Draigo said, as he handed the Iron Hands Chapter Master the enormous hammer. "I picked this up from Perturabo while I was carving the illustrated history of the Grey Knights on his spleen. It was an even more embarassing defeat for him than that time Rogal Dorn singlehandedly killed his whole Legion at the Iron Cage."

"Thank you SO much, Lord Draigo!" The Chapter Master replied. "This has inspired me to make my Chapter give up bionics completely and follow the Codex Astartes just like the Ultramarines."

The Grey Knight and the Iron Hand paused briefly to salute at the mention of their spiritual lieges.

Wasn't it I heard that the Ultramarines only lost 2 marines at Calth? Thats why Mortarion got angry because he was out endured, which resulted in Draigo carving "LOGIZTIKS" into his heart?

No, no, I can see how Calth could be considered a defeat for the Ultramarines.

Remember, that battle began with the entirity World Eaters and Word Bearers, including Angron and Lorgar, treacherously attacking the planet while the only Ultramarines present were an eight man Scout Squad and Aronid Thiel, a former Sergeant who was locked in the brig for being a Rogue Astartes Who Played By His Own Rules.

It is likely the Traitors would have attacked elsewhere had they known even a single full Ultramarine was present, but the first inkling they got that Aeonid was around was Maloq Kartho's dead body falling out of a closet with a note around his neck that said "Now I have a plasma cannon. LOGISTICS LOGISTICS LOGISTICS."

Thiel rallied the Scouts, and for thirteen days and nights the squad held off attacks by both Legions. The Traitors threw numerous Titans, daemons, and even the two Primarchs at them, but all was for naught, for Thiel had repented of the sin of placing his own wisedom above that of Roboute Guilliman and conducted his defense strictly according the precepts of the Codex Astartes.

Thanks to their unyielding adherence to the logistical and strategic principles of their Primarch, they were able to allow the entire population of Calth to evacuate as they held the maddened heretics at bay.

But alas, after thirteen days, the sheer disparity of the numbers against them had begun to tell. When Guilliman and his honor guard arrived at the dawn of the fourteenth, only two Scouts and Thiel were left alive, and Thiel was sorely wounded.

He lasted just long enough to tell Guilliman that his one regret was that only at the end had he learned to unquestioningly trust in the word of his Primarch, and then he died.

Touched by Thiel's heart felt admission, Roboute fired a single bolt round from his pistol into Calth's sun, causing it to explode and wipe out three quarters of the Traitor forces.

Angron and Lorgar were so awestruck and terrified by this feat they fell to their knees and begged their dark gods to save them by transporting them somewhere safer, like directly in front of the defenses at Terra, a cowardly plea that the ruinous powers granted so they might rob Guilliman of the victory of slaying both his vile brothers.

BL really ought to consider who they want the newest member of their team to be.

Seldom is the awe and scope of Ultramarine tactical acumen captured in such blazingly glorious detail.

"Now I have a plasma cannon. LOGISTICS LOGISTICS LOGISTICS."

with your permission, sig'd.

Good god, no. Wade's a bro and all, but the last thing we need is him in a position where his sarcasm can be mistaken for canon.

Couldn't be any worse than Phalanx.

EDIT: Also, I think Wade hit literary gold with that one. Guilliman wasn't overpowered, and all the characters were 2-D and undeveloped an it perfectly followed the Heresy as recorded by the Imperium in the Index Astartes. It fully met everyone's expectations.

I had Roboute BLOW UP A STAR with his sidearm!

Blood of the True Pantheon, how far do I have to go *to* make the XIII Primarch overpowered?

Then again, IA: Night Lords did have Curze swimming through the molten core of Nostromo before digging his way to the surface...

When Guilliman can actually fix the Imperium and lead Humanity into a Golden Age of Fighting the Heretical Traitors, we'll start talking. msn-wink.gif

Yeah did you guys catch that one mistake Dan Abnett had in KNF? I was surprised and amused

The one WB who shot the UM during their meeting had a plama cannon, which was in an easy pull out holster. I was incredibly confused especially when he one hands it to sink a hole into said liege.

Only after it said he put away his plasma pistol did I realize it was a simple error, but funny one.

At least it didn't turn into a multi laser......

That's better than saying that a weapon wa gene-locked so only the genetic descendants of Dorn coul use it, having said gene-descendants(including an actual Imperial Fist) use the thing an them havin the big twist of the story being that the weapon wasn't gene-locked to Dorn because the people who owned the weapon were not actually descendants of Dorn. Meaning Lysander is a Soul Drinker. Take that Alpha Legion!

Yes that was a great series untill that.

I tend to avoid 30/40k books now that have their title as a ships name (ie phalanx, furious abyss,...) they come out poopy

If my theory holds true, then Vengeful Spirit will be crap....
