Black Templar Castellan and Marshal

Firstly, thanks to the 6th Ed C:SM, one of my Sword Brethren gained a promotion this month. A short while ago, he was part of an SB Terminator Squad, taking along a Storm Shield and Power Axe to provide some serious protection to his S/bolter brothers - like this:-

I thought that the Power Axe looked meaty. However, in comes the 6th Ed C:SM and a new Wargear List.

(1) Out go S/shields from TDA S/Bolter squads;

(2) The Castellan (Captain) is allowed a Storm Shield with his TDA but it can only replace the power weapon.

Just as well that the arms were magnetised - one field promotion coming up!

Saved the legitimacy of the model, but plays havoc with my formations.

But onward to some pure joy for me. A new Marshal in full glory and TDA whilst the Grand Marshal is playing away elsewhere:

I hadn't realised how much bigger FW S/Shields were compared to Lysander's - now that's a lot of protection. The part I enjoyed was the wealth of detail that Lysander's armour brings - inviting the challenge to convert from Fists to BT iconography and a short mod to change from Dorn's Fist.

All set for some mighty squashing of the zenos.
