Renegades in the heresy

The only reason I'd link it to Albia is due to the fact that in 30K era, all of the oceans have dried up... hence, there wouldn't be much separating the two islands, and honestly I don't know how deep of a trench there would be to separate them anyhow. Erosion would probably cause it to be much less than current day, not to mention things like seismic activity and shifting plates.

Or do a play on words and spell it how people with an Irish accent say it: Eirland

Or, Hakuna Matata just to throw people off.

:D unfortunately I want it to be a bit more serious.

I've decided on making the captain a former EC palatine blade that was crippled in body and was at the perfect palace (or whatever the EC stronghold was) and upon hearing the news of istvaan and the corruption fulgrim was allowing he picked up his sword and took a transit ship out of system to an agri world where he wished to hop his way to terra.

Upon arriving he heard of an inbound ship at the star port that held survivors of istvaan III led by The boaters character. And a remember emcee that holds true to the ayireish cahtolic faith and introduces him to it restoring some faith and order to his world.

Thoughts?

Sounds awesome! :)

Might I suggest for the catheric ayireish (another great idea!) using the name Arin/Erin?

Arin go brae!!!

....and maybe have a script-thrall named Jameson that follows him/her around ;)

Ireland would either be part of Alba (Scotland / England), or come up with something like Hiberia.

Ireland is called Skye in 30k, if I remember correctly.

That sounds like a cheap Southern hooker name teehee.gif

lol sorry to anyone you know named that

maybe a tired old iron warrior sargent based on sgt barnes who is tired of the same old :cuss but just wants to get his men out of the war, but knows both sides will ultimately use them as cannon fodder ;)

I'm thinking (much as a counter to our dear Father Erin, Aerin go Bragh) - a very small, angry east-ender (no I don't mean that distasteful program) call Harry msn-wink.gif he's a Black & Tan boyo! so go for an Imperial Fist - nice dour humour, nay more than an RSM in rank tongue.png

I'll do more when I think of it...

Heathens I'd be honoured if you'd give me a cranky vet whichever legion you wish for this warband :)

DC I like the idea but I don't want to many angry old vets maybe a idealistic youth who hasn't yet been broken by the attritions if war, but followed his sgt in mutiny.

RussBrother I like it give me some more for my head to use

I feel that this wonderful fan creation of ours will have our cast wind up looking like a couple of mates who hang out at the pub biggrin.png

BEER FOR THE BEER GOD! KEGS FOR THE KEG STAND!!!

...anywho I think we should include disgruntled renegade "loyalists" such as RB's fist and maybe a dark angel recruit fresh from Caliban who can't connect with either Luther or the Lion.

Edit: Jasp buddy you ninja'd my DA recruit hahaha

;) I try my best.

I don't think I can work a word bearer into it other than an ionocast that before torching "heretical texts found say an old Egyptian manuscript with the story of Horus and realised after extensive research that the heresy would be the end for mankind"

Hmmm but they weren't aware that they were to die, I like the idea of a word bearer trying to change the future rather than a psychic being.

But shoot me some more info and we could reconsider :)

I'm thinking something like a sadistic imperial fist that views humanity as weak and feels that the weakness of mankind will undo all the astrates has worked for

I like it ;)

It's in so I've made contact with some WE and we've got a base, now how do we introduce other legions?

I have it. Though renegades are not un heard of it seems like the subject is very hushed up within the legions, HOWEVER once one has indeed gone rogue I feel like they would be easy to find. (It can't be hard to miss stories of 8 foot miscreants/ mercs roaming the galaxy... Especially if you yourself are an 8 foot miscreant) In comes my three other characters plus their handful of followers from various legions. Somehow following stories and depictions of carnage they happen across the other band of renegades and create a larger band of renegades.

Brother Dalin Shane : legion [REDACTED]*

Status: Tratorus Extremeus-Renegade

Former Rank: Legion Captain- company [REDACTED]*

Crimes: conspiracy against the empire, abandonment, leading unsanctioned armies, posing as an imperial officer, evading imperial authorities, defying imperial orders, breaking of imperial edict, breaking of sworn legion oath.

Notes: Captain Shane is one of the worst criminals within the imperium and has become somewhat of a legend in his own right. His crimes began with a comment while he was still active in the [REDACTED]* with a comment to a junior officer about a desire to "burn" members of the imperial high council. Normally within a legion status this would end in the striping of rank and other such punishments, but fate would have other plans. Before he could be brought to punishment, the [REDACTED]*

- and It would appear this is how he escaped the [REDACTED]* with half a century of astartes from the [REDACTED]*. It is assumed that many of these warriors are now dead.

Captain Shane was last spotted leading a ragtag group of astartes from various legions. His force strength was last estimated to be in the 20's and it is unclear at this time if he has any vehicles or heavy armor. In fact it is quite unclear how he makes it around the galaxy as the remains of his ship the [REDACTED]* was found two years before his last sighting. It is not uncommon for his group of renegades to pose as active legionaries and fight alongside other imperial forces such as rogue traders and imperial army.

* Information redacted by order of the High Lords of Terra.

"This is what they say about me now!?" Exclaimed Captain Shane as he finished reading the data slate and handed it back to Vipus.

The former Alpha Legionnaire chuckled and asked "care to explain the 'conspiracy against the empire?' According to this, that happened before... Well you know..." He trailed off. Vipus was the only man in the group of seven renegades that the old captain would talk to about the incident involving his former legion, but he still felt uncomfortable talking about it. "Ah yes that joke!" said Shane, " it was obviously years ago, back when the legion was still a thing... I was leading the worst campaign on a backwater world, that was literally covered in water and the human population lived on the ice that formed in the poles, agains the most peaceful people that I had ever seen. If there had ever been a stupider reason to deploy five companies from two legions, seven regiments of imperial army, and a Cohort from a Titan legion, it's beyond me. Apparently the high council deemed this planet to be of extreme tactical importance, so we sat around on the ice for two weeks after deployment. The comment in question came after the third Titan fell through the ice and we had to help the mechanicum get the damned thing out. I stated that 'I hope there is a hell so that the idiots who sent us here can burn in it' and some general from the imperial army overheard me. He demanded that I be reprimanded for my actions and the rest well... Is history." He finished the story with a chuckle. "Glad now that you don't fight for that right?" Asked Vipus. "Aye, brother." Answered Shane with a sigh. Vipus couldn't help but notice the weariness that had left while the captain told the story had already found its way back into his eyes. He looked into his leaders eyes and said as seriously as he could "you know this means that we have to rename our next ship the 'redacted' right." After a second of confused silence both astartes burst out in a roar of laughter, the weariness leaving the captain for the second brief respite that day.

Hope you like my little bit of back story!

I'll flesh out Vipus tomorrow,

- the Boater

Edit: Addition:

DC I like the idea but I don't want to many angry old vets maybe a idealistic youth who hasn't yet been broken by the attritions if war, but followed his sgt in mutiny.

How about one that left of his own accord but is still a youth. That was my intention for Vipus.
