Renegades in the heresy

I'm trying to think of a reason for a BA to go renegade. The only thing I can come up with is a legionnaire that had succumbed to the "battle rage"  or whatever they're going to call it in HH but came back from the brink before battle's end. He then slips away before he can be questioned as he feels that he failed the primarch by giving in to the bloodlust that had consumed him.

So my idea on a young BA is simple.

Xenos void warfare boarded the ship list himself to the red thirst (great crusade not heresy) the ship was destroyed his saus es membrane or whatever kicked in so he was coma style.

The warband found the debris of the fleets and were scavenging for supplies and found him, he'd been forgotten and when attended to by an apothecary he felt betrayed and abandoned by the angel

An Iron Hands marine who distates augments? But then how would you know hes an Iron Hand? Damn, just caused a riddle for myself tongue.png

A Iron Hand who cut off his augment. Have him with a strap on chain sword or power axe. When Manus died, he was angered at his legion and Primarch for "lying to him" about how UN-killable Ferrus was. He had taken it as a matter of faith and was shown the error of his ways.

How about a space wolf who was chosen to "watch" a primarch, but said to hell with that.

The wolf is shunned because he turned down an "honor" (to die lol)

Maybe one of the Wolves who was sent to watch over Sanguinius? He did not die on Signus Prime some how., but never makes it back to his legion.

How about a Alpha Legion who went too far undercover. He was impersonating a Salamader and likes his new role better then his old "Evil" ways.

Renegade Iron Hands Veteran

Broken scarred massacre survivor, despises Manus for falling to a foppish fencer

Rescued by an old companion from his days in Mars, now turned Dark Mechanicum

Sliding towards the perfect mending of flesh and machine, obsessed with the keys of Hel...

How about a Alpha Legion who went too far undercover.  He was impersonating a Salamader and likes his new role better then his old "Evil" ways.

He might think himself a renegade but in the end everything is still going according to plan.

Or he is knocked unconscious during a boarding action, suffers from amnesia when he recovers and has no way of knowing that he's not really a Salamander.  It worked on Miami Vice!
