TLA
To test out a different way to base what is going to become my brotherhood of grey knights I pulled this guy out of my old miniatures pile and painted him up. The base didn't come out quite the way I wanted it to, so I have some work there to see if I can make it better. After I finish his gun and rod, I am going to try out another one of my old inquisitors and see if I can make the base come out a little better. http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh292/Cherub996/Grey%20Knights/image_zps447bc458.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh292/Cherub996/Grey%20Knights/image_zpsbba1d6c1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284145-building-a-brotherhood/ Share on other sites

TLA
I was going to load the finished pictures of the Inq but for some reason I cant get pictures to upload right now. I started work on a 5 man purgation squad. Why a purgation squad you might ask, well my regular opponents are necrons and chaos marines/demons. And nothing says I hate your flying high toughness princes like a purg squad. Though I do think the next one I will assemble will have psilencers. I know a lot of people don't like psilencers but I really like the wounding on a 4+ no matter what the toughness is. How do you deal with quantum shielding? Trying to deal with all that armour 13 is a pain when you are relying on rolling that 6 for rending. I would rather stay away from henchmen if I can, I was thinking of a land raider for those twin linked lascannons. Though a dreadknight would work if I can get into cc fast enough. Reclusiarch Darius
Though I do think the next one I will assemble will have psilencers. I know a lot of people don't like psilencers but I really like the wounding on a 4+ no matter what the toughness is. Except psilencers are still trash, because psycannons wound everything small on 2's and the bigger stuff on 3's. GUO's are the only T7 Daemons around, and even then, psycannons are still equal to a psilencer. Psycannons also have Rending (which helps against 3+ armour on the MC's, FNP on Nurgle stuff, and against Necron vehicles), AP4 and an Assault mode for when you wanna charge or move into 24" range of something. PsyDreads are a pretty good pick, as massed S8 can and will wreck Necron vehicles, even the AV13 ones (a single pen will knock out the shielding btw). When the Necrons get in range to telsa/gauss you though, Dreads melt, so try to stay at maximum range. Ravens are also good (twin linked multi-melta, as well as either a twin lascannon or twin assault cannon), especially for delivering Purifiers or Terminators into melee. DK's can work too, teleporter is a must though as you'll die walking or Deepstriking (too much shooting, especially those LanceTeks which punch straight through your 2+ armour). TLA
Yayyy I figured out what I was doing wrong. Now just have to learn how to take better photos. http--,,--//http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh292/Cherub996/Grey%20Knights/IMG_6528edit_zps39dc3a7c.jpg http--,,--//http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh292/Cherub996/Grey%20Knights/IMG_6522edit_zps4c16dfd0.jpg As for the psilencers, he runs nurglet with biomancy I think it is. He keeps getting these powers that add to his toughness. I was hoping they would give me an edge before they hit my line and chew though my guys. By the time I get enough hammers into them to finish them off, his second wave has hit me. Anyway as I get more units assembled and painted up I am sure I will figure it out and learn to crush his hopes and dreams lol. Does anyone have any experience with the Demos campaign? I was thinking of playing it with the wife over the holiday using my knights as stand in for the ultras, and smaller point games since she doesn't have apoc sized necron army yet. At most, he'll have two GUO's, and they're slow so unlike Princes, you can easily get the alpha strike on them (even with Terminators). Given there will one be at worst two GUO's, I'd just use Terminator hammers or a DK with greatsword to murder them. GUO's are some of the worst GD's, they lack the mobility of their others and their combat potential is a lot lower (still not as bad as a Lord of Change though). Still doesn't justify taking easily our worst special weapon. Just take psycannons dude.
