Oz of the North
I am sorry if this should be in a different area, but this is my best guess where it is supposed to go, but here we go. Whenever I attempt to have a model carrying a banner, the banner breaks out or is just awkward in the carrying case. My question is, is it frowned upon to just show to my opponent what model is the banner carrier and then create another base that the banner can sit on and just always keep the banner base in base contact with the banner carrier. It also gives me the option that if I am not using the banners, it gives me objective markers. My other question is does painting models before gluing make models more likely to break, I have a horrible time with arms and heads falling off and wanted to know if this could be causing this. Hemal
that should be fine in my opinion I'd normally have a double-height space for any standard bearers (I have a fair few given I play fantasy as well..) and sergeants with "cons" Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284219-banner-carriers-and-models-staying-together/#findComment-3539472 Share on other sites

Yes it is. You need to make sure that the surfaces which are going to be glued together are kept clean and not painted, otherwise all you are gluing together is two layers of paint. When I paint parts separately, I use small blobs of blu-tac to cover the areas that are going to be glued together, and then peel the blu-tac off once I have finished painting them and am ready to glue the model together. Good idea, like that - You can also file away the paint if you need to - but given I pin most of my stuff, I get away with painting most components seperately..
