teblin
I'm starting a WW2 Soviet-themed Guard Army, and I'd like the lasguns to have a varnished wood effect, like on this SVT-40: http://world.guns.ru/userfiles/images/rifle/7/1288257913.jpg Any ideas how to achieve this? I assume 'Ardcoat could possibly create a varnished effect. Thanks. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284222-painting-varnished-wood/ Share on other sites
DarkMark
Lifecolor do at least 2 different sets that will probably be of use, namely; the GUNS & WEAPONS camouflage and Weathered Wood Diorama sets. If you Google the names then you'll get a bunch of reviews that demonstrate the usage and show you what you can achieve like this , note you can brush these paints too! The_Chaplain
I don't know if you frequent the youtubes as often as I do for hobby related stuff, but several channels just "get it" in terms of hobbying. My suggestion would to actually look through car modelling channels; A lot of car model enthusiasts take the time to paint faux-wood finishes in their scale miniatures, and I'd imagine the techniques are similar for what you're looking for.
