Emperor's Scourge
Just looking for personal opinions. I converted a SW Mk VII helm into a Sarum pattern for my VIth Legion last night. I was wondering how many other people use them? Even though Sarum is Mk IV nerds love to try to point out another's error. I just dread having to explain that it's not Mk VII over and over again when someone says, "that's not pre heresy!" And no...my VIth are dated BEFORE Prospero so no one needs to point out that Mk VII was present in limited numbers on Terra. Also, does anyone know of a source for a backview on Sarum helms? I just have the front views in the HH books. I was curious whether the raised area on the back of the head should be scrape off to create the same smooth surface as the crest? GrandMagnus
Well, to be fair there existed the official Marks of Power armour, but there where also a lot of legion variants such as the Praetor pattern for Ultramarines. I personally would have no problems with that, I would consider it a non-specific mark. Kol Saresk
The Sarum-pattern breather is just a Mk IV variant helmet is all. Later on it becomes the basis for the Mk VII helmet, but unlike the Praetor, it had been recognized as an official pattern by the time of the Heresy.
