Battlements and rules lawyering

So looking through stronghold assault I found this little jewel

“The roof-spaces of many fortifications are identified as battlements. Whilst all battlements are built on top of another building, battlements are not themselves treated as buildings.”

So hypothetically if a D weapon were to shoot at a fortification and it were to scatter onto the battlements or if the D weapon were to shoot at a unit on the battlements and not hitting around the base at all it would be effectively like shooting at an upper level of a ruin so the shot would then miss. Can there be a rule backed argument against this?

Yes the quote I posted is directly from stronghold assault

Upon further reading you are correct.... Guess that kills this thread

Here's the quote

“If a template or blast weapon hits a unit on top of a battlement, that battlement’s building also suffers a single hit”

Something I've completely missed this edition, because of this thread:

"If the blast marker scatters to non-ruin, or open terrain, resolve as normal."

So if you completely miss a ruin/building, the shot now hits the ground floor.
