jeremy1391
So looking through stronghold assault I found this little jewel “The roof-spaces of many fortifications are identified as battlements. Whilst all battlements are built on top of another building, battlements are not themselves treated as buildings.” So hypothetically if a D weapon were to shoot at a fortification and it were to scatter onto the battlements or if the D weapon were to shoot at a unit on the battlements and not hitting around the base at all it would be effectively like shooting at an upper level of a ruin so the shot would then miss. Can there be a rule backed argument against this? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284431-battlements-and-rules-lawyering/ Share on other sites

Magpie
Any blast template stays at the same elevation when it scatters so I'm not seeing an issue? jeremy1391
Landing on the battlements is not landing on the building though since battlements aren't treated as buildings. reading as written that's what I'm getting. Magpie
The new rules cover that. The building below still takes a hit. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284431-battlements-and-rules-lawyering/#findComment-3544260 Share on other sites
AyanamiKun
Magpie is referencing to Stronghold Assault. Many building rules are updated and improved there :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284431-battlements-and-rules-lawyering/#findComment-3544467 Share on other sites
Magpie
Magpie is referencing to Stronghold Assault. Many building rules are updated and improved there I think the OP's first sentence hints that he might be referring to Stronghold as well ? jeremy1391
Yes the quote I posted is directly from stronghold assaultUpon further reading you are correct.... Guess that kills this threadHere's the quote“If a template or blast weapon hits a unit on top of a battlement, that battlement’s building also suffers a single hit” Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284431-battlements-and-rules-lawyering/#findComment-3544643 Share on other sites
Seahawk
Something I've completely missed this edition, because of this thread: "If the blast marker scatters to non-ruin, or open terrain, resolve as normal." So if you completely miss a ruin/building, the shot now hits the ground floor.
