Randy Savage
So for the henchman 'crusaders' it says they have a storm shield flak armour and a "power weapon" . Does this mean I can choose what power weapon it is? Like give them all power axes, or better yet power fists? I couldn't find any FAQ related to this. Lysere
If it only says power weapon then it's simply as they are modeled. So if you use the GW models they are power swords. If you do some work you could make them have axes or something else but the sword is probably the better choice. Randy Savage
Ahh ok, thanks. So as long as I put axes on the models they will be ap2 +1str. Good to know. Ill probably do that so they can :cuss on anything in close combat with a 3++ and ap2 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284463-power-weapon-questions/#findComment-3544703 Share on other sites
henrywalker
you can choose any power weapon. a power fist is not a power weapon it is a special weapon of its own type. a power weapon is a power axe, power sword, power mace or power lance. for crusaders i would tend to go with axes. the crusaders are I3 so they are going at low initiative against most things with a 3+ save. they also have a 3++ so they are likely to survive till they get to hit. Randy Savage
Yeah thats what I was thinking, whats a good bit to use for axes for them? They are finecast I think. henrywalker
the huge benefit to inquisitors is that none of their people or equipment is standard. you do not have to use the finecast models if you don't want. you could do guard with shields and axes if you like or pretty much whatever you want as long as the wargear is representative. as for an actual bit for an axe im not sure. marine and ork axes are probably too big. you could go for something from the fantasy range. Remember that the rulebook defines a halberd as an axe so you could do a halberd or pikestaff sort of thing. Pyro X
I would look into bits from empire Warhammer fantasy boss if you want axes. Add a little greenstuff and its a power Axe. Reclusiarch Darius
Power axe is really the only choice. I3 is too low to matter with any other option, and having AP2 in melee means you can kill Terminators reliably. With a 3++, they're fairly durable. On DCA however, I'd take a sword and an axe. That way, you can use their absurd I6 to murder things before they can swing, and switch to axes against 2+ saves. Kenderleech
I bought a box of fantasy dwarves, and its great for crusaders. It comes with 30+shields and axes. and 16 bodies to put them on. Isiah
Really? I'd like to see a picture of those modelled as Crusaders. Cheers I Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284463-power-weapon-questions/#findComment-3555798 Share on other sites
Kenderleech
modeled as crusaders? I assembled them per the box directions, and put them on round bases. Your mileage may vary, but the Tourney organizers here have been cool with them, as well.
