Marshal Titus
Hail! Brothers of the most noble Chapter! I have recently renewed my Crusade against the filth and heretics that continue to pollute our galaxy. In that vein, and with our new Codex, I have given new thought to my venerable Crusade. New members are forthcoming and the Marshal of my Crusade is now finished! First, though, a bit of background on my Crusade's personality and "fluff". Keep in mind I have adopted some things from the new C:SM while still trying to stay true to our old Codex: Black Templars (which I need to get re-bound, as half of the pages are falling out now). I have specifically focused on our old "Abhor the Witch" rule, which explicitly states an exclusion for Space Marines of the Grey Knights persuasion. On to the fluff! The Tacitus Crusade has endlessly scoured this galaxy for the presence of Chaos infestation for more than 4,000 years. Founded as the Malleus Maleficarum Crusade in the year M37.284, the Fleet strength has grown to rival that of all but the High Marshal's. Originally a small Crusade of mostly new Initiates sent to quell a minor daemonic infestation of the Agri-world Domenis III, the Crusade battled its way to the central chamber of the Agri-world cultists' temple only to discover the finished ritual to summon a Greater Daemon of Khorne named Kyr'Ro Sho, He Who Has No Name. After being forced out of the Temple upon the Daemon's finished summoning, the Crusade was met by an Inquisitor of the Ordo Malleus. Along with a contingent of Gray Knights, the Inquisitor and the Crusade were able to defeat the Daemon Lord and banish it back to the Warp. Before falling in battle, though, the Daemon Lord vowed that it would return to claim control of the Material Realm for it's god, Khorne. The Maleus Maleficarum Crusade went through several iterations, always under the command of the same Castellan or his successor. Each time the Crusade was formed, the Ordo Malleus found themselves fighting alongside familiar Templars. Recognizing the skill, determination, and afinity to learn in battle of these Black Templars, the Inquisitors of the Ordo Malleus decided to pledge the alliance of the Ordo to the Black Templars Chapter in return for the future service of the Malleus Maleficarum Crusade. The year is M41.999 and the Crusade’s existence is known only to the High Marshal himself and the Inquisitors of the Ordo Malleus; under the command of Marshal Lord Titus Trinius the Crusade has been called to arms by the Ordo Malleus once more to vanquish the the vile Daemon Lord Kyr'Ro Sho, He Who Has No Name. So these are some pictures of my Marshal, officially Marshal Lord Titus Trinius. He is equipped with Artificer Armor (a gift from the Grey Knights and the Ordo Malleus), my custom Shield Eternal, and a Thunder Hammer. http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt30/Texico/20131214_130912_zps2cabecf7.jpg http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt30/Texico/20131214_130945_zps8058a09a.jpg http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt30/Texico/20131214_130922_zps120e7b8d.jpg http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt30/Texico/20131214_130933_zpsada5ae12.jpg http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt30/Texico/20131214_130957_zpsf2b2091d.jpg I will use this thread like others and keep a running "blog" of my completed units and such. I have Storm Talon and Vindicator which I am working on at the moment, as well as some bolter/ranged Crusaders and some Sword Brethren to go with said Crusaders. I also have some pictures to take of a Castellan within the Crusade which will be used for lesser points battles. Any feedback on the fluff or painting is much appreciated. I tried to keep accurate to the fluff which made the most sense to me, as I lost my old written fluff which I had been working on since about 2006 when my old comp died. Link2edition
Nice model! Is the shield from forgeworld? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284536-the-tacitus-crusade/#findComment-3546602 Share on other sites
Marshal Titus
Nice model! Is the shield from forgeworld? Thank you! The shield is made from plasticard for the base and several different bitz from the Black Templars upgrade sprue. I considered going the FW route for the shield, but decided to try making my own first, as I couldn't find the FW shields for a low enough price. Honda
Welcome Brother! Agree that the shield looks excellent (I'm a plasticard shield maker too), but also think your Thunderhammer turned out marvelously. Well done and I look forward to seeing more of your crusade. Onwards! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284536-the-tacitus-crusade/#findComment-3546873 Share on other sites
Marshal Titus
Thank you much for the encouragement Brothers! I now have a Storm Talon Gunship to add to my Crusade. I just need to finish the base, but the model itself is done. Here it is! http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt30/Texico/20131215_222447_zps9a263d1b.jpg Hmm, the white on the ailerons came out quite bright in the pics, but it is more of an off-white in person. I just did a dry brush of White Scars over a base of Skull White. And then a picture which I think came out quite amazing, a really imposing view of the devastation that can be wrought by a mobile gunship. http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/tt30/Texico/20131215_222436_zps26aedd6c.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284536-the-tacitus-crusade/#findComment-3547302 Share on other sites
