Dark_Master Posted December 14, 2013 Share Posted December 14, 2013 Hello All, Been wondering about this Xmas Originally was going to use my Xmas money and get myself a Fire Raptor, however upon seeing the rules I'm not that sold ( I have Mortis dreads for anti air and a Nephlium to harass ground targets) and was looking at a Sicarian and maybe a Deimos Predator executioner instead with left over funds getting my second LRC. Now with the release of Escalation I am looking at a Lord of War Slot. Now the Fellblade looks the obvious choice, but might stretch funds. Currently have the following (Not all painted) Azrael Ezekiel IC in TDA Libby in TDA Libby in Power armour Techmarine (Powerharness) + 3 Servitors Tech on Bike Command Squad with Dakka Banner 5 Man DWK in LRC Mortis Autocannon Mortis Lascannon Contemptor Mortis (Kheres + Missile) 3 X 10 Man Tacts 3 X 10 Man DWT 3 X Full RAS (2 melta/ 1 plasma) 1 X 10 Scouts (Sniper rifles) 1 X 10 Assault Squad Nephilium 4 X RWBK 2 X Whirlwind 1 X 10 Dev's (4 Plasma Cannon) Its roughly 6000pts What do guys think would be best? SvenONE Posted December 15, 2013 Share Posted December 15, 2013 I picked up the praetors for Terminator Company Master and Azrael Conversions (I hate the current Azrael model). They're also not insanely overpriced. Lucky for you to have the problem of filling a Lord of War slot!! Maybe that will be next year's xmas present to myself. Yes they are, otherwise I would be buying one of them. Don't think its s typo, don't know why thou. Don't think it was that overpowered. Could they have not just put a points charge on it? CovertToaster Posted December 18, 2013 Share Posted December 18, 2013 @facmanpob: I don't think things are any different for 30K as that only allowed the reaper autocannon battery not the standard autocannon battery available to C:DA. The fire raptor is now 225 points with it's standard wargear options (quad HB sponsons, 4 stormstrike missiles, tl-bolt cannon). So base cost goes up, hell strike missiles got changed, bolt cannon got TL, no sponson options, no armoured ceramite option. They have specialised it as an AI gun boat which doesn't worry me as it's still AV12 all round, 4 HP, and cheap so I would definitely use this over a nephilim with bolt cannon as the additional power is a bargain at 45 points extra. In the context of IA2v2 it makes perfect sense as they have a storm eagle transport, a specialist storm eagle AA variant, and the fire raptor as an AI platform so I'm buying a fire raptor at some stage but I'm not going to get more than one. If you want a lord of war choice then definitely get a fellblade if you have IA2v2 as it's pretty powerful for a fairly low price and I hear the thunderhawk is a little underwhelming for the price, a case of trying to do too much.
