Brother Rylanor
As the name of this post suggests this is my Winter Advance log. so my vow is for the following: 1 x Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf 10 x Fenrisian Wolves 2 x Thunderwolf Cavalry So this is how it looked: as you can see the 10 Fenrisian Wolves were already assembled, so I started with them. I will admit that I'm not great at keeping track of my work with photos so before I new it they were complete. so I got a little artistic with the photos of them hope they look ok. I think I will start on the Thunder Lord next, I will keep this log up dated with regular photos (honest ). please leave C&C. Rylanor. Brother Rylanor
Ok so I started work on my Thunder Lord. here are some photos of the mock up I made: I am planning on having the Wolf at an angle, hence the slanty base. There are some really visible join lines on the wolf and I need to green stuff them out, but I was wandering if anyone has used the liquid green stuff and is it any good? please let me know what you guys think, C&C are more than welcome Rylanor. Rune_Priest_Rhapsody
I've used the liquid GS on my Fen and TWC models to varying effectiveness. Over all the amount of layers it takes to hide most seams will end up taking away some detail. I ended up scraping it off and using regular old GS. Just my 2cents... The Fen wolves look great man!! And I love the pose and slight conversions on the lord as well!! The shield idea is officially stolen!! ;) End of Line Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284573-rylanors-winter-advance/#findComment-3549248 Share on other sites
Brother Rylanor
Ok so I've been busy over the festive period, but haven't got round to posting any pictures. here is my ThunderLord after the undercoat. So here are the finished pictures of the Thunder Lord hope you like. I present: Skuli Vidurr, Blood Axe: Here are some of the base: Ok so all I have to do now is put together my TWC and get them painted. Hope you guys like him, feel free to leave C&C Rylanor. Leif-thunderstand
Equupment seems to be the same as my Wl on twm. But yours is more individual. I like the Khârnlike showing skin on one arm on yours. Brother Rylanor
Hey Lief, yep the bare arm is very much Khârn like, it's also a running theme within my army, mainly those that are wolf bitten tend to have at least one bare arm. I love axes and they feature heavily in my army as ccw, but I think if you give the weapon a name it can be almost anything you want, such as: Head Cleaver or Bear Reaver and viola you have an axe that has the profile of a power fist of wolf claw or so on :-) I know that this wont stand in tournaments were WYSIWYG is enforced, but I only game for fun and model with the 'rule of cool'. cheers, Rylanor Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284573-rylanors-winter-advance/#findComment-3559592 Share on other sites
Leif-thunderstand
I also use my frostaxe as poerfist or wolfclaw (decide before game for one of those) but iam still searching for a cool name for it. Something like "Icefang" or so... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284573-rylanors-winter-advance/#findComment-3559646 Share on other sites
