Oztech
This is my WIP thread for my Inquisitorial Warband. Its my first attempt at doing some proper conversions and custom models so comments and criticism is much appreciated! if youve got any tip[s or ideas please throw them out, id love to gte some feedback on the models. Gonna chuck some fluff in with each model as well, ill post of with the completed and painted image. This will be in two forms, mainly a 200points Kill Team warband with a 75point Inquisitor. Ill also eventually make an inquisitorial detachement for my Imperial Guard force as a close combat HVT hunting group. First off is Inquisitor Lucion himself I think ill be swapping his pistol out for something a little more impressive though. Lucion is that inquisitor that went too far... the best way i can describe him is to post the fluff that invented him i suppose lol. Inquisitor Lucion Intro It was just as he finished the sigil that it finally dawned on him. It was so strange.Like suddenly remembering the answer to a question, but you didn't even realise you were asking it.It was like a glow globe blinking on in his head, suddenly it was so clear - ......he'd gone too far.Do all the inquisitors have a similar moments? He wondered. Those names spoken in hushed tones, even among the ordo hereticus.Did they all look back on all the small compromises that led to this point and suddenly see a fall from grace? One too many sacrifices. One too many dark paths taken. And like him did they not care?Did they remember each and every decision and know - really KNOW - they were right?...They were necessary.A small moan stirred him from his reverie and he shook his head clear of the philosophical nonsense clouding his mind.Turning his attention back to the task at hand he applied the razor sharp blade to the flesh of the whimpering mortal once more and was greeted by a fresh scream of pain."Fear not brother" he said calmly "your sacrifice is a noble one! The rite is nearly complete and soon you will become the enemies weapon turned against them!"The last sigil welled up crimson and blood seemed to dance as the candle light flickered across the sigils and runes carved all over the bare human torso."Reborn in agony to smite the Emperors foes" he said softly, almost to himself. He could already feel the beasts attention turning on him, staring from a world without reason - it felt the pull of the rite - but it was far too late now. Kabbala
Looks good so far! But the thing that bothers me a bit is his sword. His pose, emphasized by his legs, suggests he's running; yet his sword is held like he is stationary, or just limp wristed. Oztech
Brother Tyrax I have NO idea what you mean, my guardsmen boxes come with lots of stern guard bits :P And cheers Iron hands! :D Much appreciated dude. Kabbala yeah I know what you mean man, the marine body is off a jet trooper which made it hard to give it anything but an active stance :/ I tried to make it a bit more like he was breaking from a stance with the sword in a back handed grip? Might need some more work. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284717-inquisitor-lucion-of-the-ordo-malleus/#findComment-3550334 Share on other sites
deathspectersgt7
Much better thanks like him. like the use of Word Bearer Armour Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284717-inquisitor-lucion-of-the-ordo-malleus/#findComment-3550391 Share on other sites
ephrael
I don't see any Sternguard bits on that model, lots of FW though including an Astral Claws shoulder pad. Interesting combination of bits but I agree with Kabbala on the sword arm. The Rampager arm you used was the forearm facing up and you have the hand attached with the palm facing down. That's physically impossible and just looks "wrong" to my eye. I would suggest switching the arm for a different one. The left shoulder pad with the Crux Terminatus also seems a little out of place to me on an Inquisitor. It's a great looking bit but that is typically a badge worn exclusively by the Adeptus Astartes. Oztech
This is my first attempt at greenstuffing so any tips or comments would be muchly appreciated! These are my Skitarii retainers, they follow the Magos around with a kind of blind loyalty and reverance of his level of bionics. They're packing Hotshot lasguns and im taking them as 3+ power armour but fluff wise theyre blessed with implants granting them a high level of resiliance. Greenstuffing begins! The greenstuffing didnt come out quite the way i had intended :/ so that might get re-done at some point to have a more natural, fabric falling, feel. The Skitarii Centurion. This is the senior skitarii and his (since removed) servitor. Skitarii Aspirant Lastly this is the Skitarii Aspirant, he follows the Centurion around as he was taught hoping simply to serve the Omnissiah. I was gonna show Hans next but just as i finished him i got annoyed with the model and took him apart in favour of bits that haven't arrived yet lol Much better thanks like him. like the use of Word Bearer Armour yeah is a beautiful model - couldn't resist making use of it I don't see any Sternguard bits on that model, lots of FW though including an Astral Claws shoulder pad. Yeah ive got another sword and a new pistol arm im going to switch out so he'll be getting a bit of a revamp soon. And i know what you mean about the Crux Terminatus and i dont want to have some special snowflake flake fluff as to why he'd have it lol Another thing i might alter lol Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284717-inquisitor-lucion-of-the-ordo-malleus/#findComment-3551560 Share on other sites

muggs
Looking good, regarding the Crux - you could just say he stole it from the corpse of a dead marine from XXXX chapter, hence they are trying to kill him and get it back. Inquisitors can be quite arrogant chaps Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284717-inquisitor-lucion-of-the-ordo-malleus/#findComment-3551695 Share on other sites

Oztech
Its been a while but with the dent Christmas put in my wallet i was hard pressed to get the parts i wanted! but made loads of progress recently This is Professor Ivan Grosse Mad professor - counts as priest in the squad, provides boosts to squad mates through chemical enhancements and possible biomancy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I considered going with a talon weapon on the left arm but i could never quite get it looking right. The green stuff skills still need some work but i got the look i wanted ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Then after adding some more cloak and many, many layers of white. Still needs some wash/detailing and to be splattered with gore to finish him off though ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ But we cant forget his subject! Oztech
I think this guy has to be my favourite at the moment :) Daemon Host - The bound Daemon Holocaust forced into servitude by the Inquisitoy Lucion Mallafax. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is my first time working with resin - Not impressed lol had to green stuff every joint/gap! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This a little greenstuffing nd he starts to look a little more like a daemon. I wanted the base to give the feel he carries war and suffering with him. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And finally paint, i wanted it to look almost decomposing and very grimey so i went quite heavy on the wash and i think it came out pretty good. I still want to go over with some blood/gore and probably some daemonic binding runes but i cant really figure how would be best to do it without ruining the model so far.
