It appears sometimes GW does do good things. Tis the season I guess...

I've been playing around with the new PDF. It's a pretty cool supplement, and it gives us a place to shine (somewhat). I thought I'd make a thread for people to post their Kill-Team ideas, or even completed squads.

Leader:

- Flame Knight w/halberd, digital weapons

Weapon Specialist:

- Purifier w/psycannon, 'Ignore Cover'

- Dirty Fighter Specialist:

Purifier w/halberd, 'Fleshbane'

- Guerilla Specialist:

Purifier w/psycannon, 'Infiltrate'

4 x Purifiers w/swords

I considered taking Indomitable on one of the psycannon guys, to get access to the 'Relentless' trait instead, but even 2 psycannon shots that ignore cover is a pretty big deal in Kill-Team. The Dirty Fighter is pretty nasty, there isn't much more scary than an I6 AP3 guy in melee that wounds on 2's and can turn on ID on a psychic test for multi-wound stuff. The Guerilla is basically going to suicide the enemy transport (people can squeeze Chimeras and Razorbacks into Kill-Team, only just though), or if there is no metal bawx he'll go after the enemy lascannon (Sternguard or LotD are pure nasty with that combo btw) or Leader.

I could do a Henchmen one, but I feel like they're way too easily killed in Kill-Team. Feel free to post yours if you have one though :)

So, post away guys. Pics are most welcome.

No it's a purely for funz supplement. It's not meant to be competitive or anything. You get 200pts (which isn't much at all, dunno why its not 500, but whatever), and you basically take a bit of Elites, Troops and FA as a mini-army.

Seconding Jeff.  I think Interceptors would be better than Purifiers in Kill Team.

Although I'm considering a Codex Inquisition Kill Team with a Chimera.

DCA with Infiltrate.  A Warrior with Hotshot and Sniper.  A Priest or two.  Something like that.

I worked up a 5 man Interceptor squad with bells and whistles and came in under 200.  Granted it was the old Kill Team but was something like:

Interceptor Justicar w/ MW falchions, MW stormbolter, psybolt ammo fleshbane

Interceptor w/ thunderhammer, psybolt ammo feel no pain

Interceptor w/ psycannon, relentless

2 Interceptors w/ halberds, psybolt ammo

Looked like it'd be fun.

Inquisition wise I've been toying with the idea of a Razorback w/ "psycannon" (assault cannon and psybolt ammo), then something like a DCA, a monkey, couple of acolytes (an excuse to use my 'slayer' squat with plasma gun, etc).  Not too hard to get 6 men and a Razorback under 200 points.

In the new Kill-Team you can only get the specialist abilities on the Leader if you roll that result on his Warlord chart. Bit janky IMO (I wish they'd let us pick Warlord traits, this D6 rubbish is irritating). So, you'd probably wanna give 'Fleshbane' to a Knight with falchions.

I like Purifiers over Interceptors because you get about the same number of guys, but you're Fearless (a big deal in Kill-Team, because if you fail Morale, you are removed from play). 'Cleansing Flame' is also still relevant, whereas 'Warp Quake' is utterly meaningless (no Reserves). Plus they're cheaper base cost (which means you can squeeze in a second psycannon or incinerator to taste, or even psybolts), cheaper melee upgrades...

Interceptors are pretty hella sweet though. Besides Blood Angels we're the only race likely to field Jump Infantry (Raptors are bleh, as are normal Assault Marines), Bikers are too expensive really for Kill-Team, so you'll have the speed advantage and amazing positioning (up to 30" free move is huge on a 4x4 battlefield). I just think their combat ability and Leadership make them problematic, but they're still Knights.

I have mine at 7 models, halbreds, psybolt and a psycannon. We are having a tourney today but I have to work so won't make it unless my customers don't show. Kill team has become somewhat a normal thing around our group plus it pushes us to paint em up.  It's also fun as the warp.

My old 200pt Interceptor Kill Team still works:

Justicar w/ MC Daemonhammer, Psybolts

Interceptor w/ Psycannon

Interceptor w/ Daemonhammer, Psybolts

Interceptor w/ Falchions, Psybolts

Interceptor w/ Halberd, Psybolts

I'll be treating them as a sports team rather than Grey Knights, with silver armor, opalesent blue trim, and lots if purity seals.

I'll be adapting my earlier Purifier kill-team.

My base kill-team is:

  • Knight of the Flame with master-crafted Nemesis force halberd (Leader)

(if his Leader Trait is "Been there, Seen it, Done it" then he takes Guerilla Specialist/Preferred Enemy)

  • Purifier with Nemesis daemon hammer
  • Purifier with Nemesis force halberd (Dirty Fighter Specialist/Fleshbane)
  • Purifier with Nemesis force halberd (Combat Specialist/Hatred)
  • Purifier with Nemesis force sword
  • Purifier with psycannon (Indomitable Specialist/Relentless)
  • Purifier with incinerator
And did I mention that my kill-team is painted as a Librarius squad of the Exorcists Chapter Enochian Guard?

And did I mention that my kill-team is painted as a Librarius squad of the Exorcists Chapter Enochian Guard?

Pics? I've always been teetering on the edge making an Exorcists army.

I'll post them as soon as I take them. My focus of effort right now is getting the army list presentation (taking a cue from the event handouts - it's not a real requirement except insofar as my OCD is concerned msn-wink.gif ).

My take on a Purifier Kill Team. :)

Leader: Knight of the Flame, Master Crafted Nemesis Force Halberd, Digital Weapons

Weapon Specialist: Purifier, Psliencer, Sniper

Indomitable Specialist: Purifier, Psycannon, Relentless

Guerrilla Specialist: Purifier, Nemesis Force Halberd, Scout

Purifier, Nemesis Daemonhammer

Razorback, Psybolt Ammunition

Total: 199

I just couldn't pass up a Psilencer with Sniper!  Sure, you can't move, but 6 shots that wound on 4+ and are Rending/Pinning.  A Relentless Psycannon is a staple really.   could drop the MC or DW from the Knight of the Flame and allow my Guerrilla Specialist to trade up to a pair of Falcions. 5 attacks on the charge, or 3 with I6...  Not sure on Scout, but until I get a few games in, not really sure what else to take.

(Brother Tyler, seconding the desire to see some pics of your Enochian Guard!)

Weapon Specialist: Purifier, Psliencer, Sniper

Haha oh wow. Just like that, Kill-Team makes our worst gun suddenly decent. 24" range is still an issue, but on a 4x4 board you can run into range Turn 1 if need be.
