Kaan
I've been working and playing with more Ork army over the last few years. My 14 year old son has wanted to get into Warhammer for about half his life and asked if he could have my Space Wolf army. I made sure he read up on the army and enjoyed the fluff, which he did. Thus he inherited a painted 3500 point force. For Xmas, he asked for a number of 40k models which we will get to assemble and paint together. But to make it an extra special Xmas, I ordered a Forge World Fireraptor, so that he might have some air support in this world of flyers. It was assembled and magnetized by Thomas from Blue Table Painting in Utah, and painted up by Dustin from Painthammer Studios in Washington. Knowing that I'm of somewhat limited modeling skills, I had BTP assemble it. I wanted to ensure that it was very well painted and Dustin stepped up and did a very nice job on it. Very pleased with the model and I hope you enjoy it as much as my son will on Xmas morning. (My friend Chip wants me to adopt him so he can have a great Xmas gift like this too). Enjoy! I cannot post images (getting an error saying I can't post that extension on this community....) so I'm posting up a link. http://www.shutterfly.com/lightbox/view.sfly?fid=55eca83cc9bd76539a16dcf07a6807f9 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284852-its-a-fireraptor-xmas/ Share on other sites
commander alexander
Says I have to sign in to see it, and I don't have an account with them. I've been running into problems posting pictures here as well, I finally said to heck with it. Sounds like your son will be having a very special Christmas indeed. Which reminds me, merry Christmas to you all. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284852-its-a-fireraptor-xmas/#findComment-3552566 Share on other sites

Max_Dammit
Looks good, a bit clean for a combat flyer. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284852-its-a-fireraptor-xmas/#findComment-3552715 Share on other sites
Kaan
Max, I agree with you, however, the clean look fits the other vehicles in the army. Thus I had Dustin from Painthammer studios paint up the model in a very clean fashion. mactire
Great work and great looking model, my nine year old likes nids so I'm left making a winged tyrant for the new year. Sven Dragonfire
That looks really nice, great job. How was the kit to build, did Thomas give you any feedback on the quality of the kit? I recently bought the Storm Eagle kit but it was horrendous, miscast, damaged, and badly fitting. Have built loads of Resin kits including the Thunderhawk but this was really poor quality. Had to send it back in the end. Wasnt as keen on the Fire Raptor but having seen how good it looks in Wolf colours I am tempted. I have recently gone back over my vehicles to give them some wear and tear as originally my painting style was very clean, too clean. Great model thanks for sharing. skeletoro
i am putting together a raptor at the moment. I will take some WIP pics and post them here. It is smy first forge world vehicle and I have to agree... It is much more difficult to assemble than GW plastics. I wouldn't say it is a deal breaker for me though. I've enjoyed the process. But i would recommend: lots of cleaning, reshaping with hot water (repeatedly), lots of pinning, using araldite rather than super glue, a vice, and careful preparation and forethought.
