Death guard culture influence

That is why I love being Californian. Our accent is American standard, thanks to our television and film. Unless having a different accent is part of the character, the default accent matches America's Midwestern accent, of which California closely matches.

But we should stop talking about Jeff and get back to the Death Guard's Terrain roots.

I'm pretty sure it can't be New England because wasn't one of the empires Merica? Which I can only assume was a bastardization of America that already exists. And the palace is huge because it's centered in the Himalayas but one town/city that they mention is just outside the outer walls of the palace is in Northern Russia (can't remember the name right now).

No idea about Castram, aside from a Portuguese conjugation of 'to castrate,' which I hope is unrelated.

Or is a reference to the sexless future of Astartes.

I'm trusting what I read on this forum earlier this year; castram reffers to the garrison-cities the romans set up in Britain, solidifying beyond doubt that Albia refers to the geographical location that for us is UK isles at the very least.

You need to take a look our global map, and set a geographical filter that removes all the oceans.

It's so pretty :_) http://liamscheff.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/imagemap001.jpg

The pious amongst you will notice the blessed map is even centred on His Most Glorious Palace.

That is what it looks like in the 31/41st M, I doubt even the Mariana Trench has any water in it left. Thats what, 70% more landmass to claim? To that extent it is helpful to be reasonable and assume the then-UK is atleast the centre of gravity for the Albian kingdom or whatever it is with those warlords, but even then it is helluva lot different to what we are envisioning. Kind of like the first few seconds at looking at an upside down map.

Edit: Link & Mariana

I seem to remember that the Mariana Trench is mentioned. I think that is the trench-hive that the Night Lords take out, but I might have just assumed.

And yes, I have stated repeatedly that there are no natural oceans. Unnatural oceans, maybe. I seem to recall the Navigator Houses being based on islands surrounded by a sea of sludge and waste. While it is way more than likely that such bodies of liquid are where the natural seas and oceans once were, they could technically be anywhere.

I am aware of the tomahawks being used during the Vietnam War, but not widespread and not afterwards. Could be wrong though.

But then, kukhri or however it is spelled has also been used in the American military. More extensively than the tomahawk, as far as I'm aware.

Tactical tomahawk apparently became a thing during the second Iraq war. If you can believe the history channel. As you say though not a standard issue item.
