Provocation
Ever since I completed my Storm Claw conversion I've been eyeing out the Stormraven kit. Managed to get my hands on the Storm Wing box which allowed me to use bits from the Raven and Talon to come up with this. Tell me what you think and let me know if you have any suggestions for a cool wolf like name for the flyer. http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k614/Provocation88/IMG_3653.jpg http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k614/Provocation88/IMG_3657.jpg http://i1118.photobucket.com/albums/k614/Provocation88/IMG_3660.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284923-stormraven-conversion/ Share on other sites
Frater Cornelius
Oh, me gusta. Mind giving us a side view? Reminds me of a more heavy metal and less sterile version of the Tau ocra. Just the way I like it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284923-stormraven-conversion/#findComment-3553944 Share on other sites
Leif-thunderstand
Ravens actualy fit the old-nordic aspects. Odin got two ravens like two wolfes. the wolfes Geri and Freki (you know em from the spacewolves) and the ravens are named huginn and Munin (means: thinking and Memory[Memories]) I hope it helps you ... Reichfaust
Very cool, I also used the Storm Talon engines on a Storm Raven conversion, makes it look a lot more powerful with four turbines! For the name, might I suggest Skyfang, Storm Fang, or "Provocation" pattern Storm Raven ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/284923-stormraven-conversion/#findComment-3554209 Share on other sites
Frater Cornelius
The Storm Wolf. It fires Wolfstrike missles, got Power of the Wolf Spirit, twin-linked Wolf-Canon, twin-linked Multi-Wolf, Hurricane Wolves... sorry, lost my chain of thoughts there. Kasper_Hawser
A very vivid memory came to mind when I saw the wings. Anyone recall an old anime Mazinger Z? It was the pioneer super robot anime that first came with the idea of a super giant robot piloted by a teenager. But to pilot the robot, the hero had to first fly a mini hovercraft/plane and land it right on the "Crown" of Mazinger Z. The wings would fold upward and fit snugly there. That's what your wings remind me off. Another memory is that of Thunderhawk from MASK, whose car doors also inverted upwards to form the wings. OK, enough 80s cartoon nostalgia. Point is, AWESOME SAUCE! The conversion is lovely and even unpainted as it is, color looks reasonaly fine. I think you just need to add some battle damage or dirt and grime (I doubt wolves wash their vehicles or themselves for that matter). As for the name, how about Gryfalkon? According to Blood of Asaheim novel, it is an actual predatory bird of Fenris, which one of the Grey Hunters adopt as his name.
