A commission for fellow B&C member catastrophe86, here is work in progress on Asterion Moloc. Ivanus is not quite so far along but I will post pics of him soon...

Painting of the metalwork looks awesome, the shoulder pad grey could use more shading perhaps? I'm unsure about the position and really confused by what he has under his raised foot - this looks like a mold overcast part?

Cheers for the comments. @ Kastor the red and grey are only base coated, the grey will be built up to white. The pose looks a bit weird at the moment but that bit under is front foot slots into a bit of scenery supplied with the model that goes on the base.

Here's a progress update – nearly done now, just the bases and Asterion's cloak to finish...

This is really amazing! Ive been doing my own minotaurs for a year and a half now, but im not really satisfied with them. Could you be persuaded to give us the recipe for the metal? Doubt i could make it work this good, but always exciting to hear how other people paint metallics.

Cheers Thrillhouse, no problem, for the metal I use Rub n Buff. It's not a paint, more like a paste but you can drybrush it on. It tends to flick around a bit so best to do it first before moving on to the other colours. The process I used on these guys was:

- Tin Bitz basecoat

- Nuln Oil wash

- Drybrush Rub n Buff Gold

- Gryphonne Sepia wash all over

- Agrax Earthshade wash on the recessed panels for depth / variation

- Mithril Silver edge highlights

You know, I rather think that Asterion Molok looks more the titanic warrior of ancient legend without that cape of his.

Maybe the cape makes him seem more regal, detracting from his image as a warrior.
