recon0321
What's the siege breaker HQ?....would this still be inline with fluff? I feel like the death guard would be a meat grinder army...they just wear down the enemy until nothing is left save enemy corpses.... recon0321
Does it mention in the fluff how large the death guard legion was? Found it 95k before the purge Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285033-death-guard-tactics/page/2/#findComment-3556773 Share on other sites
morsla
The "Captain" equivalent for Legion armies (Centurion) can be upgraded to various specialties - chaplain, librarian etc. Siege Breaker is one of those specialists: they unlock Phosphex rounds for Medusa artillery, can carry up to three Phosphex bombs (grenade versions of the above) and confer Tank Hunter and Wrecker to the heavy weapon attacks of any infantry unit they join. Perfectly suited to Iron Warriors and Imperial Fists, but their access to chemical weaponry also makes them a good fit for a Death Guard army. Durfast Spiritwolf
Seige Breaker is fine fluff wise, in fact you can take a siege breaker special character in Betrayal ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285033-death-guard-tactics/page/2/#findComment-3556838 Share on other sites

spu00sed
Morsals forgot to mention that the phosphex shells are poison 3+, which kills marines better than S10 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285033-death-guard-tactics/page/2/#findComment-3556845 Share on other sites
Moonstalker
Morsals forgot to mention that the phosphex shells are poison 3+, which kills marines better than S10 Err... how? 2+ to wound is better than 3+ to wound. Leif-thunderstand
To kitwulfen: i am 100%al shure it was for deathguard in an older chaos codex. That time i used to be a chaos-player with some nurgle tendencies (i played death guard) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285033-death-guard-tactics/page/2/#findComment-3556863 Share on other sites
spu00sed
Morsals forgot to mention that the phosphex shells are poison 3+, which kills marines better than S10 Err... how? 2+ to wound is better than 3+ to wound. Got my position close combat and poison ranged confused. I thought all poison attacks with a higher strength reroll to wound. Turns out it is only close combat poison attacks that do this. :( My poor phosphex has gotten weaker.
