So I like the look of them. I was thinking of doing up a two-toned grey and muted pale blue DIY Chapter. I just figure though that that will follow up this project. These guys remind me of the Mortificators to be honest, but I hope to see more! Think we will see a character highlight in the near future? Unless you know, you're in a movie cause those guys need to relate with the audience! That Sergeant like fellow with the chainsword and the combi-flamer looks pretty heroic, maybe some fluff on him would be a good place to flex your background writing skills? Argent aquila Posted January 12, 2014 Author Share Posted January 12, 2014 well, the combi flamer marine (i think i'm gonna start calling him Aquila, because he has like 7 of the things on his Armour, and i didn't realize he was covered in the birds until i had glued him all together ) is gonna be part of the sternguard vet squad, and, humorously, they're all one handing bolters and combis', even the sternguard sergeant has a combi melta and the whole hand on hilt of sword arm... as for fluff, my chapter is actually non codex, there are 5 war hosts (the reason why is in the liber astartes page i made for them i'll link it at the bottom) and i plan on making the 2nd ( which will specialize in planetary assault) and maybe part of the 5th (great at tearing apart void ships, thinking lots of Forge World breaching assault sets for them ) So yeah, I'll think up some fluff for Aquila, and maybe even for the tactical squad (squad juntunen) that has painted marines, one of which is sporting the sexy mkIv armour, and has 9 comrades to join him eventually... not to mention the contemptor that will be joining them! thanks for the comments and help everyone, hope to get more stuff posted throughout the weekends to come! heres my fluff page so far, feel free to comment there for suggestions too: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285126-scythes-of-draconia/ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Argent aquila Posted February 4, 2014 Author Share Posted February 4, 2014 okay, so i was debating some stuff, because my birthday is coming up, and i decided i wanted to invest in expanding my army. there are a couple of ways i was going to possibly go about it for what to add into my army, here are a couple of the ideas i could come up with, please help ???? (note i have not included shipping and such) ((((the key theme to the army as a whole is dependance on overwhelming firepower, few tanks( in fact i may not get more than one or two after what i have...) use of strong air power and dreadnoughts whether dropped via pod or brought in storm-raven)))) 1 forge-world/ infantry: 5 iron armour marines/boarding action shield set/character conversion set. (basically, a sick command squad and a hero to lead them, comes out at about 80-ish USD Really cool, maybe even throw in the apothecary set for extra awesomeness!) 2 forge-world/ dreadnought focus: venerable mkIV dread/dread-fire right arm/contemptor claw/contemptor heavy bolters (funny story behind this, when i ordered the contemptor, i picked a mkIV claw instead of contemptor, as well as a kheres assault cannon... so it's about 90 for a dread and 3 arms) 3 games-workshop only: storm-raven gunship and chaplain with jump pack (runs at just over a hundred, but no real wait time... pretty good for starting point for my air power) 4 forge-world/assault (despoiler?) squads: 2 5 man assault/despoilers, again may throw in apothecaries (i personally don't like mkIV jump packs, so if i do this, it'd be mkV assault marines or mkIV despoilers with no packs, hits at ) sorry, i know it's a lot, but y'alls input has become very important to me. Alternate ides are more than welcome, my family has a little tiny squeeze on budget, so at most 100-is if i beg and plead and don't let my mom see the cost. (my dad is cool with models, he introduce me to Warhammer when i was 7, without him i would be just some dull kid with no empirical zeal in my life!!!) THANKS A TON! I'm going to try it your way here! thanks deathspectre! i just cobbled him together a few minutes before his squad was base coated! now for the fun stuff... a predator (rare in the war host) turret. with typhus corrosion and ryza rust (absolutely marvelous BTW!easy to use, and looks good!) http--,,--// http:// http:// a terminator, can i get some help about the power weapon? i hate the effect i got. He is WIP, so will change a bit before long... http:// couldn't help using the corrosion effect on the back, it was a perfect spot to try on a smaller miniature. http:// and an and coming over captain, pretty obvious where i got it from? http:// hope it works, crossing my fingers! ... Argent aquila Posted March 1, 2014 Author Share Posted March 1, 2014 well guys, my birthday came and went, and now the cash i asked for is begging to fin its' way overseas into forgeworld stuff, that being said, i think i have a finalized set of choices to go with to expand my army, any input??? option 1 5 mkIII iron armour marines, boarding action upgrade, umbra ferrox bolters, mkIV power weapon set, mkIV dreadnought several arms (dreadfire, inferno cannon, and assault drill for now) and a pair of arms for my contemptor (that remains to be built) a claw and heavy bolters to go with the assault cannon i have already option 2 MKIV power weapons set, legion apothecary set, a pair of MKIV dreads, one venerable/ one chaplain, six arms (2 dreadfire, a claw, inferno, assault drill, assault cannon) and the same 2 contemptor arms from above, claw and heavy bolters option 3 lastly, MKV assault squad, MKIV despoiler squad,legion apothecary set, tigrus bolter set, phobos chainaxe set, character conversion set, and mkIV power weapon set. favorites? suggestions on what i should pick or replace? my limit is 260 USD without shipping, because my dad said he would cover that for me. thanks! argent Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
