Argent aquila Posted March 7, 2014 Author Share Posted March 7, 2014 We'll, In person, I don't see it nearly as bad as it looks in the picture, and I have a ton of time constraints, so, have to squeeze the minutes I get, so they are usually rushed slightly and (brace for heresy) straight from the paint pots. Â I know, it's a shame that I bear, but bear it I must! For otherwise I would never be getting much done until late May and early June, when the constraints of the scholarly houses are lifted for the season of summer. I would much rather go back and strip down the paint later with a more practiced eye to give a better paint job, than have them sitting idly like my necron dynasty, lizardmen horde, and dwarven throng... Â If it were merely building, then perhaps it would be a slightly different story, but, until I get my time back, I have the viewpoint that having something, even if it can be better (which it always can be), is better than having expensive shrink wrapped boxes stacked one atop another with a cool label and fancy name that only gets opened but a few months a year. Â In the future, I do think I need to thin them, any good techniques other than mixing with water or thinner??? I am most open to suggestions to better my hands at the hobby! The_Chaplain Posted March 19, 2014 Share Posted March 19, 2014 Your recent marines are showing quite a bit of character; although I think your bits marine might be a bit too "busy". Â Â I like the idea of him being a scout commander/captain- perhaps if you removed the totem pole, added a cape and maybe a pointing arm instead of the hamlet pose with the eldar helmet it would convey him taking a knee and pointing out a target for a marksman scout to neutralize? Argent aquila Posted May 30, 2014 Author Share Posted May 30, 2014 hello everyone! this is an overly lengthy and picture heavy update on my stuff in general, some off topic stuff, and some space marine goodness ensues: it has been an unacceptably long time since i have updated this thread, because, as some of you may or may not know, i have been working on a non warhammer model for a contest that takes place starting this weekend called Wonderfest. (that plus, life and exams and stuff) anyywayyyy, i only have one final to take because i am exempt from the others, so i should be able to relax a slight bit, and managed to actually get some stuff done! so, for my warhammer related half of the update, i created a captain from the jump pack chaplain kit in the style of a very.... interesting chapter that i will be creating a good squad or two for, called the gore wyverns. now, before you see the pics, i'fd like to clear up that they are loyalists, and sons of corax to boot, but what really makes them unique, is their status as 21st founders from the raven guard, and their exemplary abilities as terror units.
