temneb
That unit and a heavy flamer dread, usually drop first turn. On special occasions I'll drop a plasma squad of 7 gh with a plas combi termi and my rune priest instead to deal with low initiative nasties. It usually messes with people's plans nicely and takes the heat of my long fangs and gh. Olgerth Istaarn
Njal is overpriced and under-delivers. For the price of him, you can have two regular RPs with modest upgrades. Don't waste points. Frater Cornelius
Because everyone wants to play at maximum efficiency and noone cares about looks and narrative. Seriously, it's a hobby. If he wants to use a cool character, more power to him. Hell, I once took Njal and Canis to a tournament. Why? Because I wanted. So what we are doing here is to clarify Njals purpose and build a list around him, not to tell him that he misinterpreted his own opinion about him ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285175-njal-in-a-pod-list/page/2/#findComment-3560907 Share on other sites
Bloody Legionnaire
Njal is overpriced and under-delivers. For the price of him, you can have two regular RPs with modest upgrades. Don't waste points. That's about how I felt about Logan Grimnar.. I still really liked using him. I used to feel that way about Long Fangs (especially missile fangs that, to this day, under deliver for me) I may end up feeling like Njal under-delivers, but I wont know till I try him out. Grey Mage
TH/PF/CF is all very meta-dependent, do what works for you.Just be careful with making lists top heavy- pod lists run best as lean, mean, fighting machines. Drop in, wipe out, take the hit, hurt what you can, keep going tell yer dead. The next wave comes in part way through, and you rippem down faster than they can rip you down, always on the attack... as a mainstay tactic anyways. And if you have to be defensive, well, it pays to have more boots than toys, always.Edit: And yes, gods yes, take new units, mix it up, have FUN with it. Dont let your lists stagnate, because the more you actually DO, not just theorize, the better youll be at building miracle lists in the future.
