Kill team for escalation

Hey guys im going to be starting an escalation league in the next couple weeks and am looking for some feedback on my kill team.  Im going to do 5 death company with jump packs. My character is going to be armed with a power sword and bolt pistol with fleshbane as his special rule.  Im going to have 3 death company with bolters and one death company with hand flamer and chain sword.  I thought about having all of the them besides my character with bolters but i came up 10 points shy of 200 and this just seems like a waste... Do you guys have any experience or suggestions?

Cheers

Death Co. are really good in kill team, as they have lot of the better special rules. A few months ago at a club one-night-tournie, I ran 7 Death Company with bolters and a Multimelta Attack Bike. I gave the bike feel no pain, one of my DC a hand flamer and bolter (he had fleshbane - this dude was really good) and one of the normal dudes I gave prefered enemy. My leader was a non-specialist marine so as to give target priority problems. It had a 'decent' amount of ranged shooting (remember tables are a lot smaller), so jump packs aren't really needed, esp as they cost so much.

Unfortunately, I think the new Kill Team rules explicitly state that death company aren't scoring units, even in kill team. So with an all DC team you're forced to table your opponent, or win on secondary objectives. Adding a bike sounds like a good idea for some heavy firepower (and a little scoring).

Yup, that is exactly how we played it, my only scoring unit was my bike - the BA codex says DC can 'never' be scoring so I set about inflicting as many casualties as poss early on (hence the bolters) with the bike used for heavier targets to start causing break tests, and it worked pretty well (tabling 5 opponents). All the rules the DC come with combined with their good base stats mean they are quite good in kill team.

Their biggest failing is their leadership 'just' 8.

I guess that I should explain that this is not going to be using the new kill team rules and that it will be 200 points, foc is 1 elite, 2 troops, and 1FA.  All units are considered scoring.  Also there is no armor allowed in the kill point part of the league.  Im thinking that while only having 5 models DC with jump packs with all of there special rules has the ability to really chew through most troops.

It exquisitely states in the rules for kill team that death company can't score due to their rules. Though I guess if you have local rules that would supersede.

I don't know what your local area terrain situation is, but most people in my area like to have it pretty sparse. I have tried the DC kill team and it did not work out. They are very good for their points, but other armies can field large numbers and without LOS blocking terrain you still just get shot up.
