Marshals:

I'm afraid we're talking past one another here. Yes, many of the Primarchs had things in their past that made them how they were.

But just because Angron's fury, Russ's savagery, Ferrus's hatred of weakness, Johnson's paranoia, et cetera ad infiniteum are understandable doesn't mean they're excusable.

Dorn is/was an uncompromising

harsh man. That doesn't mean he's an ogre.

Druss the Legend, Sir Galahad, Rorschach, Stannis Baratheon, Stonewall Jackson, and William Tecumseh Sherman might not be the guys you hang out with after work but in times of trial and hardship...

Rorsshach to general, " Sir! Where should we defend against our enemies?"

General, "let me see the map...hmm lots of ink spilled on it. Let's hold them at this bottleneck!"

Rorscharch, "Ah Hah! I knew you were a drunk!"

No slanesshi is egocentric and manipulative and sadistic not I cut my wrists to feel pain. It's a bad misconception as an avatar of slanessh he should be more dark eldarish whilst still portraying the arrogance and self depredations of man

I thought it a bit of a cop-out to have Fulgrim escape from his eternal mental prison, forever a witness to the horrific consequences of his folly. Then again, I stopped reading the HH after Fallen Angels, so I don't know the execution. But IMHO the concept sounds a bit naff.

Is there a check list for being perverted by the god of perversion?

And on topic the best legion is

The Word Bearers because the truth shall make you free...

The World Eaters because mind altering surgery is cool...

The Iron Warriors because bitter is the new black...

The Night Lord because sociopaths are fun...

The Emperor's Children because "if loving you is wrong I don't want to be right"...

The Alpha Legion because...Alpharius

Death Guard because who doesn't fear the reaper...

The Thousand Sons because magik is fun...

The Sons of Horus because Abbadon is just misunderstood...

Sooo the traitors are the best... Who'd of guessed. smile.png

Maaayyybbbeee

Wow, that is the single most subjective question about anything Warhammer related...

But seeing as how you asked...

The Blood Angels because their primarch gave his life in righteous battle

The Imperial Fists because they were the rock against which the traitor waves broke

The Raven Guard because Corax nearly killed Lorgar

The Salamanders because it ain't easy being green

The Dark Angels because loyalty is it's own reward

The White Scars because sometimes you just have the need for speed

The Iron Hands because the flesh is weak

The Ultramarines because...Logistics

Mirror Cracked portrayed Fulgrim's escape as a paraphrased "lol I'm Fulgrim" when pressed by his closest commanders, and that is no exaggeration, lol and all.

I have to admit I wasn't a fan of EC & Fulgrim, I always viewed them as various shades of Lucius; your stereotypical prancing swordsman. I came around to prancing swordsmen though, and recently after powering through Fulgrim and Angel Extermiantus once again (EC are back on the menu for me) I agree in that this time round I don't feel satisfied with their portrayal; they have turned into the World Eaters pre-Betrayer level of dimensionality for me. Now I want to see Fulgrim as a just guy who wants to get the most out of life .

The World Eaters have the best color scheme as far as I'm concerned, if that fits this thread.

Nay. The Imperial Heralds had the best heraldry.

And the best theme. Fahrenheit 451 in the year 30,000? Don't mind if I do.

Too bad Lorgar ruined the Legion....

The Imperial Heralds?

The children of the Emperor's defeated enemies, with their past erased and their history stolen from them, destroying the history of others.

No doubt the Corpse had a grand and ironic chuckle over the whole thing after he thought it up.

The old XVII had no knowledge of where it came from, and no vision for its future. It was a dead end, and the galaxy is cleaner for its consignment to the refuse heap of history.

The Night Lord because

They can't pronounce "slaughter" without "laughter".
"Slot-err"

"Laft-err"

You sure about that Cormac?

*WOOSH*  Right over your head!

He's saying they can't say the word 'slaughter' without laughing.
