The fate of Vulkan

Uprising

Recommended Posts

The disappearance of Vulkan, Russ, corax, and, Khârn will probably never be explain but I can not shake this idea about Vulkans fate in the 40k lore.  I do not know if this is the right sub-forum, but it deal within the scouring era and is about a primarch.  I also like to state this is a theory that is unlikely to be ever disprove or prove true.

I believe that Vulkan fate is a sad one.   He is in the collection of Trazyn being a simple action figure in a collection.  I have five points that make me believe this.

In the codex entry it states "Giant man wearing baroque power armour" , which provides three points.  Trazyn has fought and collected space marines on countless, but to describe it as being a giant makes me believe this marine is unique and larger then a normal marine.  Primarch are on a simple level a giant version of marines.  Point two is the word baroque, an adjective for highly decorative.  Vulkan was know for his art in the forge, a master artisan.  This ties in with point three, power armour.  Vulkan wears power armour most of the time, a baroque one at that.

The other two points of the theory, is that twice has Trazyan personality tried to steal the relics of vulkan personally.  Trazyan is like any nerd and his collection, he hates leaving them alone and would rather dust off his collection then fight.  He tried stealing the spear of vulkan twice, but failed.  Why go to the trouble of stealing this?   Secondly if you have an action figure, you would also want to have accessory to complete the collection.  Finally, what is rarer than a primarch in mint condition with no chaos corruption or with all their body parts attached?

I agree with point 1, as I had the same thought when I first read it (not Vulkan, just a Primarch) but disagree with point 2. Baroque is just used as a descriptive word, I don't think it's being used as a subtle clue. Hell it could fit any Primarchs armour, as leaders of Legions they are all going to have some pretty fancy armour. Also baroque style is more flamboyant/extravagant, which doesn't fit with Vulkan's style or the way taught by the Promethean Creed.

Point 3, Vulkan wears power armour... aye and so do millions of other Space Marines and all of the Primarchs, plus there are Space Marines that were near in height to Primarchs and vice-versa.

As for Trazyn wanting the Spear of Vulkan, it's a super weapon/relic crafted by a Primarch, why would a collector of artefacts not want it?

Interesting theory and it could be Vulkan, there's no evidence to say it isn't, but I don't really see how any of this evidence says it is.

Unremembered gives a possible way of capturing vulkan.

Shoot him into small pieces

Put them on a chair

Wait for vulkan to reform

Activate the stasis field.

It at least gives us an end for the immortal primarch, other than the oft over used gave up his immortality for some sob story or another.

Sounds Good.  I like the attempt to read between the lines.  I am one to think the answers to most of the big questions we all have are right before our eyes.  I agree though it could be any number of primarchs other then The Lion, Fulgrim, Perturabo, The Night Haunter,Sanguinius, Ferrus Manus, Angron, Guilliman,  Mortarion, Magnus, Horus,Lorgar,  or Alpharius perhaps.Of the remaining Vulkan, would be the best guess.  The Kahn, Russ, Dorn and Corax could also be the collected but why go through all the effort to get Vulkan's spear en all.  If the one we talk about /IS/ a Primarch then ill give ya a 75% chance at being right.

.

I would 100% disagree that it is a Primarch!!  the paragraph below the one you are referring to in the codex completely debunks the idea of Trazyn having a Primarch as part of his collection. If I recall correctly it states " most impressive of all Solemnace;s wonders are the prismatic galleries".  Obviously if Trazyn had a Primarch in the collection at the Solemnace galleries, it would clearly and  without a doubt be the "most impressive".

"Most impressive" is a sentiment, not a fact. As such, it would lie to the eye of the beholder. For example, if an eldar were in Trezyn's position, he'd collect a Primarch because they were rare, not because he placed any value on it. Sometimes that is just what a collector does; they collect objects of rarity simply because it might be the only time they have a chance.

I always assumed it was a Custodian. Larger than a space marine, wears intricately baroque power armour, bam. A Bazillion year old collection is gonna have some fun tidbits, but a Primarch? My suspension of belief only stretches so far.

Maybe its a Power Ranger! Wait, they aren't tall enough..... or at least the human ones aren't.......
