twopounder
So, for my raptor project, I'm adding 4 librarians to the army. I figure that Ezekial might as well be one of them. Sadly, I sold my Ezekial model years and years ago. I do, however, have a random assortment of bits to build my own. I'm not certain how to pose the model though. I've taken pictures of several different versions: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140105_174921_909_zps5a45dbc1.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140105_174443_904_zpse1a875c3.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140105_175124_436_zps42b34748.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140105_174540_700_zps2b39dfe6.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140105_173741_776_zps4919bd9d.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140105_173751_419_zpse32267bd.jpg What do you guys think? 3DJutsu
I'm diggin the first one with the pointy finger and backhanded blade. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285298-converting-ezekial-almost-finished/#findComment-3561467 Share on other sites
Bryan Blaire
Agreed, I like the reverse blade pose as well (and it looks very similar to my Belial stand-in's conversion as well, so I have to give the :tu: for that)! :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285298-converting-ezekial-almost-finished/#findComment-3561476 Share on other sites
Crudelice
I prefer the first one, mayby turning the blade by 90deg to have the edge on top when you look the front of the model. SvenONE
I think the first one is the most solid, only because that DW sarge sword says 2 handed sword to me. I think you'd need at least a back banner, just about every named DA hq carries a standard. The only other things I'd suggest as must haves are keys and a book (I think there's one on the veteran bits sprue). I'd also see if you can get a grey knight friend who can part with a psychic hood. Grimm Blade
I like the first one the best also. I agree that GK bits would be great for this model. Have you thought about giving him his characteristic bionic eye and face mask to help distinguish him from the other Librarians? puck
First one hands down. The second looks strange because he's got his sword planted in a very static position, but his legs are running/walking. Third looks very much like the DV librarian to me and I think you'll agree the point of a conversion is to make it not look like an existing model. Regarding the first one, I'd also like to see the edge of the blade when viewed from the front in such a way that swinging the sword up from that position would actually cut rather than hit with the flat of the blade. Also while I like the pointy finger, have you tried a version with just a straight arm at the side pistol and his head facing forward? Like he just blew something up with his mind and is walking through the smoke? Once again kudos on the backwards sword. Idea=stolen. twopounder
I'm liking the first one too, and more so as I look at it. Much more dynamic. Ezekial doesn't have a force hood on the model (maybe he's just that good?), but I'll try to track down a book. I have stacks of DA sprues. I'm sure I can find something. He has the bionic eye, but I suck at green stuff so the mask will, sadly, not be happening. Here are a few pictures from better angles: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140105_205631_967_zps0d4ddcf3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140105_205647_318_zps4a211e86.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285298-converting-ezekial-almost-finished/#findComment-3561544 Share on other sites
Master Avoghai
Yeah this looks nice but I would put the arm a little more forward and make the sword a little more perpendiculary to the arm.because with the actual position the angle seems a little odd (unnatural angle + heavy weight) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285298-converting-ezekial-almost-finished/#findComment-3561564 Share on other sites
twopounder
Here are some pictures of the other 3 librarians I'm currently working on (yes, the list in question runs 3 librarians and Ezekial). http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140107_185936_797_zpsbe207e2d.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140107_185951_157_zpsd1330015.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140107_185959_243_zps721305b0.jpg I know the first impulse is to say they don't have psychic hoods. Well, neither does Ezekial :P. I've never been a fan of how they look. Besides, they'll be properly painted and distinguished when they're complete to prevent any chance that they will be mistaken. twopounder
Here is an almost completed version of Ezekial: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140122_032926_424_zps992d3174.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140122_032916_546_zps3335200c.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140122_032909_884_zps34ccd021.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140122_032857_383_zps41a442de.jpg And what Ezekial would be complete without the Book of Salvation? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v396/GunMonkey/Space%20Marines/IMG_20140122_032804_190_zpsc9a0f879.jpg I'll post more once he's based and fully completed.
