A throw away chapter your ideas needed

Yep I want to put together some details on a chapter... just to destroy them.

This chapter will be part of my Sons of Creightos' history.

What I have so far:

1 Chapter is uncompromisingly loyal.

2 Chapter has chimeric geneseed partially Blood Angels.

3 Suffer from the Black Rage.

4 Major mutation that chapter believes they have kept secret.

What I request from the Liber.

1 I need a name. I had one but I think I'm going to keep it for another project.

2 Do they know they are sons of Sanguinious?

3 What is the major mutation?

Just throw some ideas at me Liber I'll take anything.

1) "Blood Chimeras" is an obvious one. If that's too obvious, how about "Bronze Angels", as bronze is an alloy, in other words, a "chimeric" metal?

2) OF COURSE the Space Marines will know they are Sanguinius' sons. The Blood Angels' gene-seed flaw is relatively well known. It is criminally incompetent- literally begging for trouble- to create a Space Marine Chapter and then NOT warn those who must keep an eye on the Chapter's (the Inquisition's Ordo Astartes, the Marines themselves) they have these flaws, and that they should take precautions "just in case."

What CAN be kept secret, is the other gene-seed donor's identity. Maybe the Chapter's members are like Honsou, i.e., the "half-breed" with Iron Warriors and Imperial Fists' gene-seed organs? Maybe the other donor is Angron, and the Chapter is the result of some AdMech Magos thinking, "I wonder if we can create loyalist World Eaters by combining the traitor Angron's genes, with the loyal Sanguinius'?"

3) Taking inspiration from the Flame Falcons and innumerable 4chan posts, maybe the Marines are in danger of LITERALLY exploding with rage, meaning each Marine is a walking bomb?

What if the gene-seed was from a loyalist Chapter like the Raven Guard. The Chapter is aware of their Blood Angel lineage, but not their ties to Corax. The effects of The Black Rage and ultimately The Red Thirst are accelerated. The flaw from the Raven Guard gene combines with this and as the Battle Brothers succumb to Sanguinius's legacy, they also begin to mutate into hulking monstrosities. The Chapter decides that instead of euthanizing the afflicted warriors, they form them into squads of shock troops. These warriors are only used in the direst of circumstances. Until then they are kept in a secret area of the Chapter's fortress monastery, watched over by the Apothecaries and Chaplains. The Chapter is extremely loyal and believe that the mutation that afflicts their numbers is the will of The Emperor. They are wary, though, of associating with other factions within the Imperium, and indeed other Astartes Chapters. Thus their assistance is often unasked for and misguided. The downfall of the Chapter begins when they come in contact with an Inquisitorial agent while suppressing an heretical uprising. The proper authorities are notified. The campaign is prolonged and due to their genetic instability the Chapter is small and has deployed in full strength. The Inquisitor takes offense to the Chapter's "peculiarities" and sends his forces, which includes help from the Son's of Creightos, in to deal with what is perceived to be a moral threat to the Imperium. Subsequently the Chapter is purged and the records are sealed. The Son's are spared from any consequences of contact with the "tainted" Chapter and are praised for their dedication. They simply enter into a pact with the Inquisitor not to divulge any information as to what happened.

I'm not sure about a name... The Bronze Angels sounds good. Or maybe the Red Chimeras or simply the Chimeras.

Just some thoughts... Good luck!

Blood Chimeras and Bronzr both sound great.  Not so sure about mixed geneseed isn't that normally considered as not acceptable?

I thought Honzou had been retconned as a pure iron warrior in one of the HH novels altough he and rest of IW are unaware of this.

Regarding Honsou's lineage, his Lexicanum article states, "Honsou's gene-seed originated from 'Honourable' Soulaka, an Iron Warriors Apothecary who was murdered by Fabius Bile, who was then responsible for melding Soulaka's gene-seed with that of an Imperial Fist, likely that of Captain Felix Cassander." This means he's still a "half-breed," although we don't know the method by which his hybrid gene-seed was created.

I never picked that up from angel exterminatus but I didn't study the book that hard more read it as it was next in the series as I'm not a fan of graham mcneil as an author and at the time was unfamilliar with Honsou's post heresy antics as the iron warriors don't appeal to me.  My main poitnt was that mixed geneseed appears to be completely taboo in the current GW canon.  I know that it is generally frowned upon when used in custom chapters.  If used well like anything I think it can add to a chapter's backstory, then again I always feel that creators are free to do what they want with their creations as long as they don't expect everyone to agree with them and can justify their decisions to the people who will offer constructive criticism.

I honestly think that the Blood Angel's geneseed can offer plenty of options, maybe tied to environmental issues like the colouration of the Salamanders or Raven Guards marines or the unique properties of Fenrisian stock which means Space Wolves can only be raised using Fenrisian recruits without risk of mass mutation.

For instance the chapter homeworld is bob's world which has weird radiation which interacts with the geensed and reduces the risk of the black rage following a victorious but bloody cmapaign the chapter could have gained the right to recruit on fred's world unfortunately the lack of stabalising radiation means that the recruits are more prone to the black rage and cosmetic but beneficial mutation.

Either the 13th or 21st , i forget which, foundings is said to have envolved much experimentation with geneseed.

The whole point of this chapter is that they are physically flawed beyond redemption and yet absolutly loyal to the Imperium. Thus making their distruction warranted and yet tragic.

The idea behind this is that is a situation for my Sons of Creightos to learn something about themselves. All be in a rather messy way.
