Unforgiven devastator shoulder pads

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm trying to get hold of 20 Devastator shoulder pads for my Dark Angels.  The design I am after is like the 'bomb blast' pattern on this website:

Does anyone know of they were ever made by GW or if there is somewhere I can get hold of them?

Thanks in advance!

You mean this one?

I've had a look on ebay etc, and whilst there has been some metal ones by GW in the past, there aren't any on there (that I know of) at present sad.png I love that version of the Dev symbol (I used to hand paint them on way back, but I'd get moulded ones if I could).

Short of watching ebay and similar sites like a hawk, I'm not sure what else to suggest, short of decals. I know that the Forge World DA transfers have that style Dev symbol on them (bit pricey just to get twenty icons though) sad.png

Sad to say, no one seems to make a pad with this on.

I've looked extensively, and had to resort to GSing my own.

You could contact someone like CustomMinis on Shapeways to see if he could make some for you, but I dont know what it would cost.

Make some yourself:

Get green stuff.

Roll it into a thin (1mm) pancake

let harden

cut bomb blast shape out of green stuff. It should still be a touch flexible.

Superglue to bare shoulderpad (mind your fingers!)

get long blob of greenstuff, roll to ~3-4mm thick, 5-8cm long.

Press the shoulderpadded explosion into GS blob repeatedly to make casts, dont touch it, let it dry.

when fully dry, put GS into casts, let dry. pick out with a little flexing and a sharppoint of a scalpel.

Attach to shoulderpads.
