Hyaenidae
Nope not till I get my legionary pilot And legion specific fighter I'm still not sold the Primaris is even manned by legionaries. BS 4? Could be equally attributed to the fighter requiring 'all but the most experienced pilots'. Furthermore, it specifically says 'human crew' when upgrading to Battle Servitor Control. The fluff in Massacre never says legionaries pilot it, only that it was 'limited to the elite close-support units of the most well-resourced Legions'. Imperial Army personnel also manned Fellblades and Malcadors in the legions, and I think that's the case here too. Finally, an 8 and a half foot monster, plate or no plate, is going to have a hard time squeezing into that model's cockpit. Enough room is left in the fluff for either AdMech or Legionary pilots. And much like real-life, there should be height and weight maximums for pilots. Not every Astartes is built the same, after all. Myself, my pilots will be Legionaries who have suffered severe injuries that were survivable but did not reach a point where entombment was necessary. Kol Saresk
I seem to have lost my arms and legs. Tis but a flesh wound. Give me a MIU and I shall rain fire, death and destruction upon our foes! Hyaenidae
Actually, yes. My Flight Centurion for my Imperial Fists was going to be missing his legs, and given a chance to fight again in a Primaris. Â The MIU is a solid idea, though. Thank you. Hyaenidae
Oh snap, just noticed something cool about the Primaris. It can take 3 twin linked missile launchers, plus it's hard fixed lascannon. Mix that with it's ground tracker and servitor fire control, that gives you Strafing Run and Tank Hunter, respectfully... Â I just got a warm and fuzzy feeling. TemujinZero
It's so delicate though. You can put together a pretty lethal loadout while keeping the price nice and cheap. If you cram it full of upgrades it's going to get focussed on and you'll barely have chance to fire anything. I'd give it one set of missiles and maybe one upgrade. Hyaenidae
In my case, a flight of Lightnings is the only thing that will be supporting my 100 Cataphractii Teminators on the ground. I'll spend the extra points and make them a pain in the rear to kill. ImpiousSmart
It's probably been mentioned already, but another plus to an anti flyer Contemptor is that they don't take up a FoC slot if you already have another Contemptor (is this different for the ones in Massacre?) Â There's a lot of competition for slots.
