DuskRaider
The Spartan is the best bang for your buck, IMO. It has the best carrying capacity of a tank, it has plenty of armament, if outfitted correctly it's nigh unstoppable. It's a bit pricey, but for what you get it's well worth it. Tiger9gamer
I'm planning on getting a sicarn very very soon. I love how that tank looks, and it will be my first purchase towards a siege Vanguard list I think. KBA
I'm starting to think the Venator might be the better buy considering how many melta-immune Spartans are starting to show up on the battle field. A two shot, strength 10 AP 1 Ordnance gun with decent range is pretty attractive in 30K. Factor in its Shock Pulse as a counter to the increasing number of Super Heavies and it's looking pretty sexy. infyrana
So for the comments made here, ...has anyone sat and done the maths for the variant of Heavies ? Say for example, comparing 2x Sicarans with 2x Venators, and equiv Predators or Vindi's in terms of best bang for buck ? Of course nothing is equal when you compare such variety and possibilities, it's just a rough estimate. I know some of you math guru's love a new equation to chew on, and we all appreciate it for sure! :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285462-are-sicarans-auto-include/page/2/#findComment-3571911 Share on other sites
KBA
I wish mathammer calculators would fry, pop, and hiss as if being pissed on by yours truly every time they tried to crunch numbers in 30K. infyrana
Oh, hehe, yes KBA, I can fully appreciate your sentiment. Personally I fully intend on acquiring a Sicaran for my force of DG. Although It doesn't feel too fitting for DG, rule of good-looks is definitely winning me over in this case. It's just that I've read some conflicting thoughts on the Venator and curious to see if the rules they have for it are worth entertaining for my armies needs. I am most definitely not a power gamer or WAAC player, far far from it in fact, but I do appreciate a bit of theory crafting to help make better decisions. TheForgottenAngel
The Venator is the stug of 30k. It's a decent tank hunter but needs to be hidden to do any good. By hidden, I mean in apocalypse games out very large games where it can plunk away at heavy tanks and super heavies without harassment. DuskRaider
In other words, terrain is a Venator's best friend. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285462-are-sicarans-auto-include/page/2/#findComment-3572093 Share on other sites
