Hey everyone, just wanted to share my campaign my brother and I played over the summer. I know this is not directly related to Space Marines, but the Blood Angels did play a role in the campaign itself.

I apologize if this type of link to another forum is not allow, and please remove if this is not allowed.

Anyways, it is a rather long read to do the entire campaign, but I tried to make it extremely unique. The most noticeable thing about my campaign is the fact that we each were only allowed 4000 Pts per side for the entire campaign. When a unit died, they were dead for good, and units that survived could gain exp and gain bonuses from their Sergeants, Exarches, etc.

So if you have the time, please let me know what you think of this style of campaign. It was extremely fun to play and completely changed the way we played with our units on the table.

A lot of thought and care went into those battle reports i know something about that and i appauld your attention to detail. I confess i did not read every one but more or lessskimmed the reports and pictures. I am curious how long the preparation took for each scenario and how you felt it went as the campaign progressed. It appeared that you had to adjust the expectations for the tyranids and give the eldar very specific goals in order to give the nids a chance after many early victories by the elves. Also was this played with just one other person? Do you feel that you would have preffered to do a map based campaign with narrative elements next time or do you feel that the control offered by the narrative style of GM provides more interest. It looks like you had a blast.

Thanks for the replies guys. Overall I really enjoyed the narrative style to the campaign. It felt like we really played out a Tyranid invasion. I did intend for the missions to get harder and harder for the Eldar as the Tyranid invasion became more and more underway.

I wrote the whole campaign from the beginning and had the rules all made up before we started. There were several different campaign paths the missions could have went on, which depended on the winner of each battle. The end goal for the campaign was just survival for the Eldar and to try and keep his men alive. The Dire Avenger Exarch became an important character who actually was not in my writing from the start but from the results of the battle and his role in protecting the Eldar Farseer in the campaign, he kind of wrote his own history, and the Eldar player became more protective of him and his Avengers.

But yes we did make adjustments as we progressed as sometimes it felt almost too hard for the Eldar or a mission seemed repetitive so we agreed to change things up as the point was to have fun with the campaign after all.

The campaign was played by just me and my brother. I acted as the Blood Angels for the first mission of the campaign. I really enjoyed this campaign as I love writing stories and watching them unfold and having people get involved in them.

I have written another campaign up which followed the same guidelines as this one except it involves Dark Eldar and Imperial Guard on a different planet in the same system. The two campaigns are to tie into one another in the end and result in a map based campaign for the four of us at the end of it all. The Dark Eldar are going to tie into the Eldar of Illathor's storyline as one of the main antagonists to the Eldar Farseer character. Of course the Tyranids continue their invasion into the system as well, which serve as one of the primary antagonists for all races.

This campaign is definitely a ton of fun to play but requires a bit more commitment and attention to detail to play through it.
