FENRISÚLFUR
So, I have heard arguments from both sides and was wondering if there was a consensus about the ap of a Prince's close combat attacks with The Black Mace. Some say ap 2 due to the Smash rule, while others say ap 4 due to the Mace. Thoughts?? FENRISÚLFUR
2 if you use smash The confusing part of this for me is that Smash has 2 characteristics. The first being that 'a model' with the Smash rule counts its attacks as ap2' and the second characteristic is that ' a model with the Smash rule may half its base attacks and strike at double strength'. So does this mean that the models attacks are always ap2 and it can then also half its attacks for double strength, or is it only ap 2 when it halves its attacks? Brother Captain Sirus
All MC cc attacks are AP 2 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285703-mace-prince-ap/#findComment-3570967 Share on other sites
Iron_Within
All attacks regardless of the weapons AP are ap 2 due it having the Smash USR. It doesn't have to halve its attacks to get AP 2 only to double it's strength. henrywalker
utterly and unequivocally it is Ap2. "All of the close combat attacks, except Hammer of Wrath Attacks, of a rnodelwith this special rule are resolved at AP 2 " Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285703-mace-prince-ap/#findComment-3571041 Share on other sites

chillin
yeah, def ap 2 bc its MC. You would never be forced to loose your natural ap bc you took a weapon. totgeboren
Except if you're a Tyranid! What? You cant be serious, did they loose smash? Nope, all Nid MCs are still MCs and follow the rules for being an MC. Smash included.
