rjpstoked
I am looking at either one of the GW color paint sets or Vallejo. Vallejo doesn't seem to have directions needed to give me a simple consistent look. GW is ok, but their weird paint collection, plus the change in pots leaves me wondering which is the best choice. Forté
Vallejo for wide selection over multiple ranges, price and dropper bottles. You don't need instructions with the paints themselves as there's tons of online tutorials for painting skin. The basics are the same for both. Mix well, use a pallet and thin with water or medium. I don't care that GW say use theirs straight from the pot, they're still too thick to do that and multiple thin layers works better than a thick one. Seleucus
I tend to have a mix of flesh colours from various manufacturers so I can mix and match as required, however, when starting, I plumped for Wargames Foundry paints for flesh as they have a range of flesh colours broken down on an ethnic basis, with a shade and highlight colour, which makes the job easier: http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/paints/foundry-painting-system/flesh-paint-set/ Scroll down to see all the different sets which you can buy seperately. Chaeron
Tallarn Flesh (now Cadian Fleshtone) followed by Ogryn Flesh (now Reikland Fleshshade) works perfectly for good, consistent flesh each time. Forté
Depends what finish you want really. Tabletop, display, realistic... I end up using at least 8 different colours and mixes between them. Hemal
don't forget the odd glaze of purple, green grey, blue, red etc depending on what effects you are going for - aged, wyrd, angry, unshaven, sickly, hooded etc etc Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/285716-which-flesh-paint-sets/#findComment-3575357 Share on other sites
