Slave to Darkness
Im starting up a Blood Angels army based on the studio force from 1991 ( http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286145-retro-blood-angels/ ), and want to throw in a Dread like this... http://lh6.ggpht.com/_v-QnkPLGATg/Sz5PsEJT3aI/AAAAAAAABK0/bY2-f7CxXuw/s800/dread_red.jpg problem is the old minis are tiiiiny, so it looks like I have to convert/sculpt the offending robot in question, problem is, I suck. Can anyone help? I got dread bits from the current plastics and might be able to canabalise a whole dread from another army if I have to, but I guess some scratch building/sculptng on the cards. Any Ideas? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286147-rogue-trader-dread-from-scratch/ Share on other sites
Xenith
I seen one of these go on ebay for £15 yesterday. I'l look there, the time saved on sculpting it from scratch would be worth it. Otherwise: Sentinel legs for arms. It kind of looks like a castellex battle automata from FW, maybe look to that for a base. Hemal
Great pics of Fury there (Furibundus class) - there were three classes, Contemptor, Deredo and Furibundus.. Contemptor we have already (though looking more like the Epic scaled version that the RT version..) I'd suggest that Furibundus is actually going to be somewhere between Contemptor and current dread in build, rather than monstrosity from RT days. If you DO want to make that version - perhaps using a robotic-cat-like toy (maybe a transformer if you can pick one up cheap) for the cockpit face, a few cylindrical components for the upper torso (solid plastic balls for the ends?), with dreadnaught legs and lower torso - without the round leg armour and encased in more form fitting plates, scratch built feet similar to a contemptor and arms from the current contemptor as well? Found this zoid whic might be a good base... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zoids-ZABER-FANG-RED-Saber-Tooth-Tiger-Figure-/181309908272?pt=US_Action_Figures&hash=item2a36e9a530 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286147-rogue-trader-dread-from-scratch/#findComment-3580517 Share on other sites
