JeffJedi
Its been a long time coming, but here are the pics from my Space Crusade game I won from Ebay. Mint and unopened for 19 years or so, Space Crusade is to 40K as Heroquest is to Warhammer Fantasy. Created by Milton Bradly and Games Workshop, the game was never sold in America. The game is packed with models and card, like most great GW games you can't get it back in the box once opened. I've been seeking out a copy for a few years and I wanted to share what was inside since more copies will have already been opened. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SC1_zps05b47c91.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286162-space-crusade-unboxing/ Share on other sites

JeffJedi
Opening the box right away you see a mountain of car sheets. There are counters, card references for the models, doors and 4 large board sections. There are also smaller board sections and a cross shaped card wall that is 3-D. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SC5_zpsd6d2ed49.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SC6_zps78fcc795.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SC9_zpsdbe7a0c5.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286162-space-crusade-unboxing/#findComment-3580503 Share on other sites
JeffJedi
Here is the Rule Book and the Missions book, much like Space Hulk: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SC7_zps6807c932.jpg And here is a look inside of the box under the card components: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SC4_zps0e04e9a8.jpg Tons of sprues there. The Marines can in 3 colors representing 3 Chapters, Blood Angels, Ultramarines and Imperial Fists. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SC8_zps94ce33c5.jpg A Closer look at the Marine Sprue: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SC3_zps93c59a19.jpg An assembled Marine Squad: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SC2_zpsf2e2b1b4.jpg The figures are meant to be modular and you may choose to have bolters or heavy weapons. The Marine Commander has a choice of 3 weapon options. Valkyrion
Crikey, this takes me back. This is what started it all for me. I even swapped a Playstation for an Amiga 500+ so I could play Space Crusade on it. It's a brilliant game and was really well supported by White Dwarf for a time too. JeffJedi
For the Alien player you get Chaos Marines, Genestealers, Orks, Gretchen, Chaos Androids and a Dreadnaught. As you can see the models are well detailed: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SCChaos_zps6f81e763.jpg The Chaos Marines come on the Sprue with the Genestealers. The Genestealers arms are slightly different pose than the 1st and 2nd ed Space Hulk ones. The Chaos Marines and fantastic and feature bolters, a missile launcher and a Heavy Bolter for the Sgt. I will the considering the Heavy Bolter as a Storm Bolter/Combi Bolter since it is much smaller and not an option for characters in the codexs. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SC12_zpsa7e7bd4a.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286162-space-crusade-unboxing/#findComment-3580515 Share on other sites
JeffJedi
Here is what everyone wants to see, the Chaos Dreadnaught and the Chaos Androids. As you can see Chaos Androids are what the whole Necron race was based on. Back then they bound Daemons in bodies and they were force to follow orders (which they always tryed to pervert the orders they are given as much as possible.) http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y92/JeffJedi/Space%20Crusade/SC13_zps80d4e557.jpg Next post will have more Sprues and Assembled pics. Naminé
Yeah I love Space Crusade! Still got my copy upstairs, and there's more then one Space Marine that has found it's way into my army from that set! Gillyfish
Wow, takes me back too. It's what got me into Epic and then 40k. I still have all the components from my copy (but not the box) and the Mission:Dreadnought expansion which introduced heavy dreads, lascannon, tarantulas, conversion beamers and, hmm, what was the other one? Aqui
The second picture of the third post makes me very happy - a diagram with most of the Original Chapters (the Raptors are missing) on it. I didn't know Space Crusade was available on the Amiga. A pity as my A600 is set up next to my PS2 and 360 It's a very rare thing to see a copy that was never opened/used! Trevak Dal
I don't typically like older models, but that Ed 209 drednought looks kinda badass. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286162-space-crusade-unboxing/#findComment-3589444 Share on other sites
Warsmith Aznable
Neat. Those coloured sprues are interesting, they remind me of opening up one of my Gundam model kits. Captain Idaho
I've got a copy in my cupboard. I chose to rescue it when I split from my ex, leaving many other things behind. Biggest problem in our gaming group is everyone wants to be a squad of Marines and no one wants to be the Alien player! Anyone played with the expansions? Bunta
Oh cooool! I had this and the expansion pack that had bigger dreadnoughts and the space marines had twin lascannon tarantulas! Great memories if this game. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286162-space-crusade-unboxing/#findComment-3635781 Share on other sites
Gillyfish
Idaho, yes, I played the Mission Dreadnought expansion and used some of the WD expansions too (Terminator armour is very cool). Mission Dreadnought is a lot of fun, but the weapons are almost over-powered. That said, multiple dreadnoughts is great for terrifying the marine players. Playing the aliens isn't that bad either. Gillyfish
Sanguine Knight - pretty much the same scale, if memory serves. Oh, and I've remembered the other weapon - a multi-melta.
