Honda
Is it the same as an IG heavy weapon squad? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286197-what-size-base-are-the-centurians-on/ Share on other sites
Argun
Nope, they're on a base slightly larger than a standard terminator one (don't know the MM sizes off-hand, sorry) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286197-what-size-base-are-the-centurians-on/#findComment-3581175 Share on other sites
Kastor Krieg
50mm round bases. Termies are on 40mm, IG heavy squad is on a dreadnought base, 60mm round. teblin
As a note they can fit on 40mm bases. I've got mine on 40mm round scenic bases and there's enough room. Kastor Krieg
Yeah, but they won't be legal for the game then. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286197-what-size-base-are-the-centurians-on/#findComment-3581397 Share on other sites
teblin
Wow, I didn't know that was a thing. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286197-what-size-base-are-the-centurians-on/#findComment-3581575 Share on other sites
Honda
Ok, so I could use the Dread/Heavy Weapon because they are larger. My reasoning is that I'm planning on doing something different from a modeling perspective. Thanx for the replies! Kastor Krieg
Not legally, no. They would engage more enemies in close combat on 60mm bases and there's more issues with that, so no. You need bases that come with Centurions to play with them - 50mm ones. Warmachine / Hordes use these, it's called a Large Base (heavy warbeasts / jacks). Disruptor_fe404
Yeah, I think the 'You can go up in base size but not down.' allowance isn't in the current rulebook. As always, if your opponents are fine with it, go for gold. Honda
Okey doke, let me see what I can do on 50mm bases. I certainly don't want to cut those out by hand. Another 10 millimeters and you would have met your doom! Curse you, Ultramarines! Hemal
You can always mount a 40mm base on a 50mm base... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286197-what-size-base-are-the-centurians-on/#findComment-3583249 Share on other sites
Jolemai
But then you're making your Centurions taller! Modelling for advantage imo... As an aside, what base should an Attack Bike go on? Mine are on 60 mm bases from this set. Honda
After fiddling around, I'm going to run with the 60mm bases. I don't do tournaments and this group of Centurions will be of the Devastator variety, so I don't think it'll be too gamey. More importantly, I will be invoking the "rule of cool" for my justification. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286197-what-size-base-are-the-centurians-on/#findComment-3583437 Share on other sites

It's actually perfectly fine to increase base sizes as the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, and the big rulebook allows this in case players want to have dioramas or rocky cliffs for their HQ to stand on.
