There is also the Killteam from Heralds of Ruin. http://heralds-of-ruin.blogspot.fr/p/kill-team-rules.html

They don't provide HH army lists though but the rules are nice. I would like to see a mix of both Killzone and Killteam(HoR) because I like some points of both ruleset.

hm, still noone mentioned the victory is vengeance campaign rules from HH3? it's basically killteam without restrictions in mixed ad-hoc units battling for ressources...

my IW strike force will be led by a Tyrant siege master supported by a myrmidon destructor lord. Rank and file vary, but surely will feature at least one castellax.

In terms of Marines, that's exactly what I want to do with all my power armoured Heresy bitz. The Mechanicum has my heart in terms of armies.

Yeah, Victory is Vengeance (ViV?) is basically Kill Team at 400 points, and lets you take single models from the Heresy lists instead of whole units, under the broad guideline of "divide the unit's point cost by the number of dudes in it to see how much they are each."

I haven't gotten to show it to my club yet, but from reading it, it sure looks like it hits a fine sweet-spot between Kill Team and Mordheim/Necromunda.

Actually it says to use the listed cost for purchasing additional models, with sergeants costing +10 pts. Also you can not take weapons that require a minimum number of models (like an assault squad normally getting a power weapon or plasma pistol for every 5 men). Oh, and 2+ armor and HQ/HS are all allowed.

Everything GW does FW can do better.

I thought you could take a Centurion.

In VIV you can. You can even take a Praetor if you want. You are allowed 150 pts to spend on a Hero and up to 2 Leaders (If I remember correctly they must have the character type so Praetors, Centurions, Consuls, Sergeants, etc.). There is a way to obtain additional war gear for them later too.

Yeah, sorry about that I actually misread you the first time, I thought you said you couldn't take HQs. Now is it 150 all together, or each? I really want to run my Moritat with a Night Raptor as his wingman, but 150 points will just get me my Moritat.

Moritat is good anyway.  You don't even have to chain fire, two shots of plasma is still going wreck any single model - if your enemy brings a big Praetor or something with a scary 2+/4+ or something, you can pop off his chain fire just to get him off the table.  Honestly, in that kind of situation, the Moritat is ideal - probably even more overpowered than he is in normal 30k.

MMMmmmmm, Terror Squad for Kill Team....  Small group of models to convert up and fill out 200 points.  I think 6 of them can be taken under 200, with 3-4  of them using Volkites, 1 with a Heavy Chainblade, and the Sgt with a Nostroman Chainglaive.  I think I would still have a few points left.

Yes yes, I know, small model count.  But they would be a fun side project to build and eventually add to my force.  Plus they love fighting infantry.  Preferred enemy and all that.  I may drop to 5 and try to fit a Centurion in there for fun.

Sounds good, thinking mid-May I should have my ETL vow part of the way done.  It should work out well though.  I look forward to it though.  Probably escalate to higher points.  I need to brush up on the 40k rules with 30k list.  I haven't played in over a year now...  Small games, escalating in segments should help with the transition into it.

You sir are correct!  Getting the assembly line ready to begin painting once May 1st hits.  Well I can assembly line the base midnight blue color I am doing and at least knock out that part of it.  Plus basing will be fun, I actually really enjoy that part.  Just have to decide on how I want to do it.

Which set of rules are you looking to start with?  That Kill Team set or the VIV ones?  Curious because I could probably start to get a small list together and make them priority.
