Quixus
Just to make sure, can you take one unit of 5 Wolf Guard in Terminator Armor, equip one of them with a Cyclone Missile Launcher/Heavy Flamer/Assault Cannon and have 4 of them and an IC start in a drop pod and one of them leading another squad, or would the one leading the other squad have to come from a separate unit of Wolf Guard? ferrus
The one leading another squad can come from the same wolf guard unit. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286317-wolf-guard-tda-distribution/#findComment-3583506 Share on other sites
Jostal
here is a question, Can a unit of 5 Wolf guard have 2 marines in TDA and the other 3 in Power Armor? If so, can you still equip the heavy weapon? (Assault cannon/cyclone) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286317-wolf-guard-tda-distribution/#findComment-3587580 Share on other sites
Dam13n
Yes, to both questions. It is one heavy weapon for every 5 models in the unit, regardless of what armour they wear. There is nothing prohibiting mixed armour. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286317-wolf-guard-tda-distribution/#findComment-3587596 Share on other sites
Quixus
A follow up question: Let's say one wolf guard is detached from the rest of the unit and joins a squad of long fangs that operates a cannon in the aegis defense line. Can the wolf guard profit from the LF rule Fire Control and shoot the cannon at another target if the leader passes the leadership test? Does that still work if the WG does not have any ranged weapons (e.g. TDA with 2 LC)? Dam13n
Fire Control is a squad based special rule. The wording allows attached characters to benefit from it, whether they are Wolf Guard Pack Leaders or Independent Characters. "As long as the squad leader is alive and does not shoot in the shooting phase the unit may split it's fire and fire at two separate targets instead of one" page 28, Codex SW No leadership test required, it's not the same as the Split Fire USR. The Wolf Guard has a BS (and isn't a Tyranid ), so he can use a weapon emplacement. Grey Mage
The unit is purchased, and the options are based off the unit purchased- not the unit deployed. Just like, inversely, adding a WGPL to a unit of grey hunters to move it from 9 to 10 men doesnt give you a free special weapon- as it was not part of the unit as you purchased it.
