BloodTzar
Hello brothers, as I did shift from pure GK army, into mix with Coteaz'n'gang. I wonder what models are you using for the henchies? I was thinking about some Kriegs (comissar for inq) or Elyssians, maybe those cadian Kaskrin troops, but one problem with them all is they dont have bolters and i would not be able to use marine ones as much.. What you think about Kriegs vs.Elyssians vs. Cadian elites? ~BT Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286358-henchmen-models/ Share on other sites
irwit
I wouldn't worry about specific weapon. If they are all same type then just say any lasgun etc is a bolter stormbolter etc. Anyone a posing this probably wouldn't give you a very fun game anyway. I think the death korps have always looked very inquisitorial. Elssian look a bit sci fi for my taste. Reclusiarch Darius
Use whatever you like. Mixing it up is probably a good idea, warbands are meant to be rag-tag teams not uniformed squads like a normal military force. Imperial Guard have a lot of range for human models. Servitors from the Tech-Marine boxes are also good. It's a pity the old 'Inquisitor+warband' boxes no longer exist, they had a nice collection of human models and servitors to choose from. IndigoJack
Personally, I like my henchman to look uniform. Less rag-tag, more uniform. I converted mine to look like storm troopers. http://i57.tinypic.com/2ezib9t.jpg The legs are catachan, the torso and arms are cadian, the backpack is from the cadian medic (w/ the caduceus scrapped off), bolter from the old space marine sprue, and the head from elysian drop troops. On the right shoulder, I used the small =][= from the forgeworld etched brass sprue. Really though, when it comes to inquisitorial warbands, anything goes. They're one of the best units in 40k when it comes to showing off creative conversions. tochtli
If you are intent on WYSIWYG, then Space Marine scouts with boltguns are really your only easy option, unless you are prepared to do some conversion work. There are various places on e-bay that sell 'bits', so buying just boltguns is a cheap option for you, and Catachans are probably the easiest GW models to convert. Most gamers are okay with models having weapons that "counts as", so Death Corps of Krieg models certainly look good. Just for fun I bought a 10 man EISENKERN STORMTROOPER SQUAD, and they might work for you as they are not quite as chunky as GW stuff, and I think they are really great models. They are made by Dreamforge Games, and the easiest place to find them is at the COOL MINI OR NOT website. There are also a couple of upgrade option boxes you can get too. One type of model I think is really great for acolytes are the old ADEPTUS ARBITES models from the Necromunda range. The only place you can find these now are on e-bay, and they are generally moderately expensive. The captain model also makes a super cool Inquisitor !!! hope this helps, cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286358-henchmen-models/#findComment-3587706 Share on other sites
