How do you beat a double wraithknight list?

So I saw this list on the table this evening at the local store. Fortunately I wasn't playing against it but I will probably see it in the upcoming tourney.

I don't know exactly what was in the list but it was something like this:

Spiritseer

2 Wraithknights - one was the warlord

4 Wave Serpents full of dire avengers

7-8 Dark Reapers

Basically the two wraithknights killed the entire guard army and seemed pretty much immune to anything thrown its way. So how could this type of list be taken down?

We do not need  allied squads. We need melta or plasma shoots right in their face (via drop podding). Or even some regular power fists blows or LF lazz cannons. They only have 4 wounds and 3 attacks. So they will not be able to wipe whole squad in one turn in HtH. Concentrate fire on one of those, Than take another one.

I would be more affraid of those 4 wave serpents squads.

Dreadknight is not an HQ choice. Its heavy support. So no worlord traits for him.

Oh, the Iyandan supplement must not exist then...

Wraiths do seem to be hard for Wolves to counter, maybe shove some thunderwolves at them?

I will be taking a variant of the list found here: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/topic/286069-1850-swig-allies-tournament-list/

My initial inclination is to ignore the WKs and go for killing the wave serpents with my alpha strike. I drop three pods on my first turn with support fire from the LFs and IG detachment. I have never been a big fan of JotWW as it has not been that effective for me and eldar have such a high I that it doesn't make it worthwhile.

Just a random thought, Wraitknights are 3+ armour right? So could a Rune Priest with a Rune Axe, +2 Strength and AP3 but unwieldy, possibly take down a wraithknight provided it survives the WK smash attacks? Can it even survive a smash attack? As I understand it, Smash attacks are AP2 right?

Scratch that idea then. Maybe Long Fang Missile Spam or Land Speeder Typhoon Spam is the way to deal with them. Even then, if he runs two, gg.

No matter what the (...)knight you will face, AP-3 it :)

It has cost of a Land Rider, so it have to be taught. Remember, that it has no frag granades. So cover is your friend against it. Especially, when comes to deal with those starcannons.

Rune priest could be a good idea, but without eternal warrior and only 2W it will be hard to kill the big guy. The good thing is, he only has got WS/BS 4, so our lords can hammer him down.

Or snipe him with your scouts.

We have lots of possibilities, depends of what kind of army you like to play.

the real bottom line is guard are useless against them.  S3 vs T8 = can't even roll to wound; once they're in melee they just mop up.

all we need is S5 to wound them and I5 to swing before they do; rending is equally effective.

because a knight is S10 it instant deaths everyone we have in melee combat (and so do their wraith cannons on a 6 to wound), so try not to solo stuff without an invulnerable save or Saga of the Bear up at it if you're wielding unwieldy stuff.

Again: laz caccons are always good in your LF pack. Sniper team with a missille launcher could be handy for pining all units and annoying opponent. Lord with SotB and big hammer or fist, maybe on thunderwolf mount. And my favorite: Rune Priest with living lighting and beast slayer saga.

If you like fast support, throw in your list some bikers with multimelta attack bike, or land speeders. You may not be as fast as Eldars, but still you could try to reach them before they struck you down. And you will find them usefull with all those melta bombs to hunt tanks and berserkery charge infantry.

As the post above said. If you are using all comers list might be slightly tougher but doable. However if you want to challenge that list and play the guy with a tailored list it would be fairly simple.   I would take Arjac with a small squad of WGPA WG. Drop the WK to initiative 1 then jaws it! and focus fire the 2nd one down with rockets or any other alpha strike units u have.

An all comers list with a 3+ pack of TWC with a SS or 2 should handle this. Make the PW for the pack a TH & get stuck in. Remeber TWC attacks are rending & that many attacks plus a TH should be fairly do able. My 2 cents. Good luck!

You could try bring 2 full squads of missile launchers with attached rune priest with divination and prescience to kill it, could even bring 3 units if you feel the need. That is what I have brought and no wriathknight has made it past turn 3, these units are also pretty good against most things you will see.

i second oz comment. ML kills these guy. My local games club uses ML to knock down these fellas. Or u can use 5 WG with combi melta in DP. It works.

Jaws works on Wraithknights just fine in my experience.

I have also had success with my terminator armored lone wolf getting in one's face with a power fist and storm shield but honestly they are scary but not even as bad as many other things people put out there.

Like many have said, focus on the wave serpents.

My other army is Eldar, when I put the Wraithknight in the list I put it in there just to draw attention and draw fire so everything else can do work because people obsess over it.

Light it up with Longfangs, or just take shots where you can as has been said with melta and plasma.

Do NOT let it get in assault, that is where it shines.
