Bukimimaru
I know how risiky it is making a very CC-heavy army in 6th edition, but I'm hoping the Firepower from the gunships will be enough to pop most stuff, and as you say Scrymgeour, the amount of Melta bombs and Assault Terms should make up for my lack of dakka. Bukimimaru
Reading lots of lists at the monet, and people generally go for the Frusioso Dread over the DC dread. Why is this? Looking at the DC dread with the doble Blood Talons getting free hits for every hit that lands... that sounds amazing! So what is it about the Furioso dreads that amke them a more common choice? Quixus
The Furioso with the frag cannon can get to work immediately after being dropped into the enemy's back field. The blenderdread (Furioso/DC with Blood Talons) has to sit around for a turn until he can do much. Depending on the opposition he might not survive the turn. frozenjordan
I'm not sure really. I hadn't thought about it, but just having a quick look at the book, the Lamenters look pretty cool. I'm still in the process of painting my Chaos Marines and Tyranids, so I might commission a friend to paint these guys. As this will just be a side project I'll probably get a few models here and there until I've got the final list and then take it all in to get painted in one sweep. I've just been watching a bat-rep on YouTube where the guy had assault Terminators in a storm raven gunship. According to my codex, the Terminators can only take a Land Raider, was this FAQ'ed or something? If so, I like the look of this list: Reclusiarch: infernus pistol; melta bombs. 150 1 Sanguinary Priests 0 • Sanguinary Priest: combi-flamer; chainsword; melta bombs; jump pack. 90 5 Assault Terminators: 5× thunder hammer; storm shield. 265 8 Death Company: 2× power weapon; power fist. 215 10 Assault Marines: Space Marine Sergeant (power fist; melta bombs); 2× hand flamer; jump packs. 240 Death Company Dreadnought: pair of blood talons; magna-grapple. 140 Stormraven Gunship: twin-linked multi-melta; twin-linked lascannon. 200 Stormraven Gunship: twin-linked multi-melta. 200 1,500 points Hey, also a fairly new player but not sure about the hand flamer love. (I however think they look awesome same with infernos pistols) But you can pay +5pts less have a Strength 4 regular flamer instead of a 10point Strn. 3 flamer. Also, I'd at least go with 2 10xman Assault Squads to get some more scoring on the table. But if it's just for fun and wrecking face I see where your coming from. Just some thoughts. Quixus
Exchange the hand flamers for real flamers and get Extra Armor on both Stormravens as per Death from the Skies. 5 Hammernators cost only 225 points not 265. Unless I'm mistaken the list is 1430 points, so you still have some left. Maybe Hurricane Bolters on the Stormravens.
Toomanyprojects
Above all, re everyday this is YOUR army :) if you want to go for DC dreads, go for DC dreads :) I like em better myself. For no better reason than I just do :) Send em in against termegants, bloodletters, IG etc. that's where they really excell: against hordes. They can wipe out whole blobs of annoying troops in a turn or two I you have some lucky dice

Frozen I would be down one attack in CC (no pistol and sword) but it is an assault weapon, so that might be worth the trade off. And yeah, if I move this up to 1,750, I would definetly get a second Assault Squad for objective holding. Maybe it needs updating. Thanks for the heads up, deinitly worth knowing. Above all, re everyday this is YOUR army if you want to go for DC dreads, go for DC dreads I like em better myself. Res Ipsa Loquitur
Furiosos are also AV13 and thus immune to Krak grenades, while DC Dreads are AV12 and not immune... I have mine painted as DC Dreads but run them, with opponent's knowledge, as Furiosos. I would also argue that all list-building apps or programs suck the big one. I find that you can't beat a spreadsheet.
Bukimimaru
Ok, after a quick revision, how's this looking? Reclusiarch: bolt pistol; melta bombs. 135 5 Assault Terminators: Terminator Sergeant (thunder hammer; storm shield); 4× thunder hammer; storm shield. 225 Furioso Dreadnought: frag cannon; blood fist. 125 8 Death Company: 2× power weapon; power fist. 215 Death Company Dreadnought: pair of blood talons; magna-grapple. 140 10 Assault Marines: Space Marine Sergeant (power weapon; melta bombs); 2× flamer; jump packs. 220 10 Assault Marines: Space Marine Sergeant (power weapon; melta bombs); 2× flamer; jump packs. 220 1 Land Speeder: multi-melta. 70 Stormraven Gunship: twin-linked lascannon. 200 Stormraven Gunship 200 1,750 points I've got 2 squads of assault guys for objectives, just about everything has Melta bombs, 2 gunships; 1 with the DC & Reclusiach and the other with assault terms. Carrying a dread each as well. The only thing I'm not completely sold on is the land speeder. Current plan is for it to deep strike in and set of a cheap multi-Melta, but with so many Melta bombs available to me, the points might be better spent elsewhere.
