Thanks heaps man!

Oh my decals haven't arrived yet, that arrow was done with codex grey then bleached bone then a thin brown wash to put a border around the bone.

/facepalm Well don't I feel stupid. :) You're free hand looked like a decal to me. Kudos to you. You win that one. :P

Haha, na man that's cool. But once my Raptor's decals arrive, I'll post up to show you! I don't feel confident in freehanding the symbol.

Its hella slow progress today, but after 3 weeks I've finally managed to at least get some time in to work on some models. ASAP i finished the Sergeant arm so he's fully complete. I've got a full squad of tactical up and running and now working on some Sternguard.

What's peoples opinion on the Sternguard loadout?

I really don't want to use the heavy flamer, but is it quite effective?

Firs time ever working on a robe...  they are tedious and difficult!

One of the reasons I post a lot of WIP pics, besides the slow pace of my work, is that other pairs of eyes frequently point out things I missed or hadn't considered.

Yup. That and others may give you ideas you hadn't thought of too.

Still, one of the best painted Raptors armies here. I'm sti bowled over. Between you and MccCaptain, we now have two 'first time painters' that are doing it better than I have in over 15 years of gaming! :(

So yeah, truly.one of the best I've seen recently. That's a tough call to make when Inquisitor Eisenhorn is lurking about...

Well thanks man, that means a lot.

I draw my inspiration from Inquisitor Eisenhorn's models. His are just fantastic. So much cleaner and the colors are amazing. I will produce models like this one day.

I really want to invest in an airbrush (I know it's not the key to painting great models) but I would love to learn how to spray gradiants and I really like the texture the airbrush leaves on the model. It's much cleaner.

A bit of work done this weekend.

First off another marine. I've now started to work on silencers for my guys on their bolters. Just to add to the theme a little bit. Also still need to kit this dude out with some backpacks and all that survival gear.

Next is a rhino I only just started. It's pretty heavily washed but I'm gonna tidy this up soon. Ignore the highlight, I just wanted to see how it would look.

And finally my sternguard serg. With this one I have used a differnet method on my green. I really like how this came out and I might stick with it. It's a little darker and a bit more grungy.

More to come!

Thanks guys. Finally finished the Sergeant and the rest will follow soon. I won't be posting again until they're all done and then I'll do a family portrait!

Just to note a couple of things I'd like to highlight about what I've tired to do here.

(NOTE: Bolter is yet to be drilled out and also the gun part is actually silver, the lighting makes it look grey like the highlights on the casing hehe)

- Feather-looking details to help with the theme of Raptors

- Camo Strap on bolter
