Azazal Posted February 8, 2014 Share Posted February 8, 2014 So to continue my unhealthy obsession with terminator armor, I'm going back in time, in more then one way. II was going through my old 40k books, and came across a little fluff piece on terminators that made me flash on cataphractii termies. I wanted to do a HH era army, but wasn't sure what legion. The story pushed me in the right direction. I got into 40k via the original Space Hulk, so it only makes sense that my Crusade army goes back to my roots. As for the story that started it off, the names of my termies is the first hint, more to come as the paint flows. Question for you: I am fairly ignorant on the FW terminator weapon options, but are those all (plasma, combi, etc.) FW weapons, or did you scratch build some of them. Very impressive either way. Note: Sometimes I wonder if there should be a separate forum (Terminators Anonymous) for people like us... The only cheat I'm doing is using the plasma blaster on Sgt Kinner as a Volkite Charger, since one is not included in the set. Also, you can only take 1 heavy per 5 termies, and that slot was taken by the reaper. So without further adieu, base coat down. Captain Semper Posted February 10, 2014 Share Posted February 10, 2014 Hmm... looks a bit shiny there - is it the flash from the camera? If so you may want to use diffused light - or daytime light... I see your point on gold - may look too Khorne-like. That's the thing though... You get red as the main color for the 9th Legion (BAs), the 15th Legion (1k Sons) and the 17th Legion (Word Bearers - Serrated Sun or all of them for that matter). So it really goes down to shades and then photography. :lol: I look forward to see how your red works. Black areas with get a follow up chainmail coat, brown with get a bronze/gold layer on them. Not sure how I'll do Kinner's sword though.
