Butters

Recommended Posts

If I remember correctly, two of the marines with bolters were all one piece, a third bolter-armed model came with arms separate and one had combi-melta and combi-plasma options. The sergeant was all one piece, too, but the hand is accessible for a weapon swap.

you get a serge with bolter and powerfist, 3 guys with bolters, 1 guy with either a combi plas or combi melta.

Weapons on all of them are available for swapping if you have the bits.

It's still a good deal.

4 boxes gets you 8 combi weapons, and you can just say "these are all combi meltas" or whatever.

Most tournaments still need WYSIWYG, so you'll probably need to swap the weapons out. Which won't be difficult unless you don't have the weapons at all.

If you don't have the weapons at all, the current plastics come with two of each combi-weapon (the older set comes with, I think, one combi-plasma and one combi-melta, no combi-flamer and definitely no combi-grav).

EDIT: Which is to say, if you get all the old ones, you can pick up one of the plastic sets and still have enough combi-weapons (probably).

Ok so I assume that since it is a GW official piece they wont penalize you in a tournament if your men dont have all the correct gear?

There is a reason WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) is a rule.  Model the pieces of wargear or as close of an approximation as you can generally to avoid confusion in a game.
