Adepta Sororitas at the Las Vegas Open

Hey everyone, I managed to get my friend who write his thoughts on his Adepta Sororitas at the LVO.  He went 3-2, so I thought you guys(gals?) would be interested in checking it out.

Yeah, when I first saw the codex I made a list with a badass canoness (one of my favourite models) and was really chuffed I could make a good character out of her. Then I realised, nope can't do that.

Still use the model and a Canoness is usually my go to HQ.

Miko and Nikolai: Who/what do you run your canoness with? Do you rub her solo? With battle sisters, battle conclave?

I want to run a canoness as an inquisitor in my DKoK army (codex inquisition is "Come the apocalypse" but Adepta Sororitas is battle "brothers") and I like the sounds of this load out. I might run him (her) with my company command squad.

I'm not sure what the definition of "smaller games" is these days, but I'm guessing 1500 pts might qualify since it seems that games have gotten bigger since I was more active and the norm is now more in the 1750-1850 range. Anyway, the tournament I'm building my army towards is 1500 pts.

Do you run her on foot or in a vehicle?

That is an interesting question itself. When I say smaller games, I mean anything <1500. Smaller games are the ones that force you to make harder choices between units during list building and keep more strictly to your plans when playing the actual game.

In my local meta, games are either 1v1 @ 1500 points, or 1v2/2v2 with 1000 points each (or 1500 + 500 for the single guy facing two opponents).

I think 1500 is pretty balanced, as you have to make tough decisions on your units, and it's a bit harder to just spam away. (unless you are playing orks, in which case you can spam at 750 points lol)

I usually run her in a 10 sister unit with flamer and heavy flamer in a Repressor (oh so many templates) The unit is usually used for holding forward objectives and slowing down forces. I still remember the day when I charged my Canoness out of the unit into the Swarmlord to stop it from contesting the objective. She survived that turn of fighting and I won because of it.

The support Canoness is in most cases the Warlord and moves with the rest of my army holding objectives and pushing forward. If I take one, she can also jump on the quad gun.

When I say 'smaller games', I mean games of less than 1000 points. We normally play 1500, but I've been having a lot of fun with 600 point games recently.

Vehicle, again, points. <1000 points, she's in the Dominions' Immolator.

1000-1500, she's usually on foot, since I can't afford enough transports to escort her Immolator, and I usually run my Troops on foot.

1500+, I mount everything in Repressors, and her in an Immolator.

To be fair, the Canoness can still be useful. I run her with Mantle, Rosarius, Inferno Pistol and Chainsword. She gets things done. If I have more points, I'll give her a power weapon too.

I like giving her an Eviscerator, that's what I've done in the matches I've had so far. I just don't like attacking at S3/4 I guess!
