Welcome to the forum!

Do you have any further blurb or background to go with your force - like a goal, a reason, requirements, restrictions, designs, future expansion etc etc?  Who will be your main opponents, 30k lists or 40k ?  Ie, do you need to worry about Flyers or the like.

I'm wondering if 2x15-man Tactical Squads might be better to distribute your Apothecaries in, so both squads have equal chance of survival.  Check the points value for your Apothecaries (or if you meant to give them something).

Which unit(s) will be taking transport, and which will be walking ?

You have opted for the Praetor over a Centurion, do you therefore have an idea of which Rite of War you wish to you ?

Hello again. Been meaning to get back to guys. I've been really busy with work.

Did some more reading on how to properly craft my army and I've come out with this new list

Comes out to about 1502. My wargroup doesn't really care if I'm over by just a few points.

This list is really for fighting other 40k armies. Also my wargroup doesn't use flyers so thats why you see a lack of anti-air support.

The game plan is to throw my praetor, deathshroud, and grave wardens in my big metal box of doom (spartan assault tank) and drive up close to unleash the deathshroud. After that the grave wardens will chill back with the spartan. All this while my 20 man squad marches up for further support along with the heavy support squad in the rhino that can swing in to provide further support where its needed.

Hey, wb with a new list!

DG RoW:Reaping Superior Firepower rules state something along the lines of "...may be taken as non-compulsory troops..." meaning that they can be used as troops for FoC and scoring I believe, but they are non-compulsory, so you still need to fulfill this requirement (2x tactical squads).

The Spartan is definitely a nice tank to have, but not sure if you are throwing too many eggs in the one basket here, but you might have to switch up your GW's or something to account for your second troop choice.  The rhino on the flip side will buy it quick, but it's about how you use it I guess.  I like the AuCannons choice, if you struggle with popping armour even with the Spartan, consider a TLLC Mortis Contemptor, or Laser Destroyer Arrays if either takes your fancy.

My troop squad looks something like this:

235 points - 15x Tactical (Vexilla, PWeapon, Arti-Armour, MeltaBombs)

You can switch out the PW for the Scythe for a few extra points if you like, keep the meltabombs for added armour popping, Vexilla seems to be a staple as is Arti-Arm for challenges etc, add extra CCW's to one of the squads if you face a lot of melee lists.  Times it by two to make up your compulsory troop choices, you can either remove the Grave Wardens, Heavy Squad, reduce the Deathshroud by one or two, or reduce Spartan gimics or change to Phobos to reduce points as you see fit.  There are a lot of things you can play around with, find a spot and have a play until you see what works better.  More marines in a squad makes it more efficient in 30k, as the start price is high, but adding marines is peanuts compared to another squad.

You have the same starting point as me - Praetor, Deathshroud, Apothecaries, Grave Wardens, basic Tacticals, and a desire for the Spartan.  I've added breachers, destroyers, Sicaran's and contemptors, so you can imagine the dilema I've had trying to fit everything in and know what will work together !  I haven't even gotten to the want for 2x heavy squads and extra HQ models.

Come back and let us know what you would like to do with your compulsory troop requirements and what you are willing to toy around with.
